I think Alex has a better oval/away rooms than a few other clubs aswell. I dont think the team bus would be too good heading up the spur, or down in that case with a couple of tinnies on board

We've heard plenty of good things about their ground and facilities. Looking forward to experiencing it first hand. Whether we use a team bus is still open to debate of course. We'd like a team lear jet, but we'll need to find a wealthy benefactor first.

haha maybe u should go in the miss gembrook 09 with that then, haha well done on getting aussie to the club too :D

Hmm...I don't think the world is quite ready to see me in women's bathing attire. As to me taking the kudos for bringing Aussie to the club - as much as I'd love to claim the glory, if it weren't for his friendship with Travis Marsham I doubt we would have managed the introduction in the first place.

Ricky Clark is also a great get, as is his brother Lee who has also agreed to come up. They are also all great blokes and will fit in well with our existing group.

They'll obviously help our depth and overall skill level, but they'll also bring a lot of experience and ability to teach you younger guys plenty. I think you'll get plenty out of them if you're prepared to listen, learn and commit to training. Plenty to look forward to in 2009!

To the Mods.

Since the last thread has been closed is there any chance this board can be tidied up a bit. For example in anyone want so to annouce coaches or players for 2009 it could be in one thread same for B&F's and another club notices etc. rather than everything in the one thread.

Come along to the meet the coach function at the Clematis Hotel on Sunday (26th Oct) from about 3pm. Travis, Aussie, Ricky and Lee will all be attending and Travis will outline his plans for pre-season and season 2009.

Players, players families and all supporters are welcome. All your questions will be answered.

Alex have a reasonable footy oval and away changerooms. Other facilities are not that great. Netball court has very poor surface, no seating for spectators (either footy or netball) and no under cover areas for spectators on wet days. There are better grounds and facilities within the YVMDFL.

First sensible thing thats been on here for ages:thumbsu::thumbsu: Btw is the pie shop in Yea still one of the best around looks like i might have to sample them again along with the cream buns then take away cans at Yarra Glen Yippee :D:D

There is a thread on the EFL forum stating Gary Moorcroft is off to Lilydale next year - anyone able to shed some light on if this?

Would obviously be a huge loss to fill for the Premiers, and might give a few other sides a sniff.

I was under the impression the netball courts are great and less than two years old. Have also heard about no seating or covered area, maybe that will change with the step up to div 1

Netball courts are the old style ashphalt, have been there since god knows when! Is there some financial windfall associated with moving up to Div 1 i'm not aware of? can't see any other means of upgrading their facilities!

I would have thought that the extra costs associated with moving up to Division 1 would eliminate any potential for upgrading of facilities. Are they up for a jumper change?

Lilydale isnt happening, but whispers abound that the Cats will be losing Numbers 29, 4, and 6 to Rye FC. Must be some cash down the Peninsula way, apparently getting set for the intro of the "Superleague" in 2010..........

As a Silvan player i just recieved a letter stating that preseason starts on Wen 3rd of december at our ground signed by the senior coach Ben Haynes & Assistant coach Gary Moorcroft and from all reports the whole preimership team are on board for another big year & there is strong mail around that four or five past premiership players are back. And as always any new players, sponsers, supporters are most welcome at Silvan

Hey Catpower, dont burst everyones bubble, if you say Haynsey & Gazza are on board then Gary cant be linked to every other club in Melb! Just like he is every year.

Go Cats.

Actually Catzz Gazza was at Silvan today discussing with board members what he & Haynesy have outlined for preseason 09 and the possibility of recruiting a couple of his ex team mates for next year

Get ya hand of it mate. You talk as if your "board members" have nothing better to do than to sit around all day and have have "meetings" on how to run your club. I'm tipping that Silvan have just as much trouble filling their committee as every club, not only the Yarra Valley, but in all country Victoria.

Hey totallytrue, no one said they sit around all day have meetings, they prob meet when they all had some time & had a meeting, & yes it is hard to get people to go on committees, so take a chill pill.

Silvan have picked up a handy recruit. A good mate of Gary, by the name of Shannon Green. Shannon played in North Heidelberg's 2005 premiership team. A good onballer and a fitness nut.

Just what everyone in the comp wants to hear..another good player going to Silvan :D

I suppose if they set the benchmark others just have to rise to beat it.
