If we’re talking unsung heroes from that game, I think I and a few others sitting in the front bays deserve kudos for not flinching when that belting rain suddenly appeared. Even braved some light hail.

Probably what turned the game, if we’re being honest.

Yet not a single vote , its an outrage

If I am picking a Sydney Best 22 in my lifetime, LRT probably doesn't make it

If I am picking a Sydney Best 22 in my lifetime to play a Grand Final, he is the first player I picked

I don't think Brett Kirk makes my top 10 which will be as popular as a toastie without cheese.

I have no data ( and I am too lazy to check) to say this is accurate, but I feel like Grundy is way more than a workhorse and is arguably top 3 ruckman in the comp for the impact he makes. I feel his level is certainly well above Hickey and Ladhams, especially last year Hickey. To put Ladhams in would be a massive downgrade, but its just my opinion.

Not sure the tap work or extra mid is there then, BUT it is all subjective. I certainly agree with your original list, especially T Mccartin. At least Ladhams is a backup option, there is no back up Tmac at all.
I don't mean workhorse in a negative way at all. I just think his game is built on his work rate, not on his ability to tap the ball.

If you beat, say, Jarrod Witts in hitouts, then you've well beaten him for the game. If you beat Grundy in hitouts it doesn't necessarily mean you've got the better of him, or that you've had the better game. He competes, he tackles, he moves around the ground to win plenty of the pill, he can win ground balls.

I think if you put a rocket up Ladhams' arse, he could do those things. He's shown he can before. He's had multiple games getting Brownlow votes, coaches votes etc., and they sure as hell weren't on the back of his tap dominance.

Hopefully we won't need him to.

Didn't think you meant it negatively sorry.

I think if you put a rocket up Ladhams he would probably just go out and hit someone and get suspended for 3 weeks is his biggest flaw.

also I think people forget how good Michael Oloughlin actually was, basically turned into a full forward because his body was kinda stuffed.

Does that mean he'd only do something worth a 1 or 2 week suspension if we remove the rocket?

Swans v Richmond Autopsy got 31 pages - our board has got high expectations for this team when beating number 3 gets 13 pages before looking at who is better than the current playing group.

There is a lot of potential to come isn't there?
Probably nowhere near the 31 pages - That was us going off at an unexpected loss...

Haven't you noticed? Whingers and whiners always have more to say about who's to blame, than those who are happy with the outcome!

yeah, you have to let steam off somewhere - even if it's hard reading.

For me that game was a trip down memory lane where in the early 00s we'd fight hard to get back into the game only to lose right at the end. Much Happier to be a Swans supporter over the last 20 seasons than the 20 prior to 2005. Just wish we were harder in the grannies.

Key part was unexpected loss. If we lost against Pies, GWS, Geelong in Geelong or even Freo in Perth (no easy task imo) you can cop those losses.

16th placed Richmond? No reason to ever lose that game

I think we all celebrate every one of our wins and some more than others.

Honestly I was as surprised and delighted by the win v GWS as I was surprised and disappointed in the loss to the Tigers. Whether there really had been a number of fellas affected by a virus (to my knowledge not confirmed by the Club) or a number had nearly drowned in the bath, who knows.

It was undeniably a very poor loss, just as yesterday was imo a most meritorious win. The loss of TMac (to a deliberate elbow to the face) posed challenges for our backline against a strong Giants fwd line and rain esp in the 2ndQ which does not help our precision kicking , both offered challenges we overcame.

Not sure anyone could have been happy with the Tiger loss.

Speak for yourself Kirky! I'd happily waffle on about every player in the team after a win! I suspect the poor folks just wanting to have a quick and casual peruse through the thread on a Sunday arvo wouldn't appreciate it though :p

I remember how good he was, though I have some biases against him due to the alligations against him which I think were quite credible. Probably shouldn't let my personal feelings get in the way but if he is line ball those personal feelings are going to play a contributing factor.

I will be interested in MRO Lotto on our game.

Brown should be sent direct to the Tribunal. I do have only have one semi functional (red and white) eye but having watched the head shot on McCartin, it was clear it was deliberate and the elbow was used. Six weeks plus for mine

I reckon there was a deliberate Giants tactic to go the thuggery. Greene actions will be scrutinised inc the gut punch on Lloyd. In the 2nd or 3rd Callaghan went a head shot (forget which player) and expect that will looked at as well. I think Grundy and some o ballers also copped it.

Thankfully our blokes did not respond in kind and maintained discipline.

Can’t write at length but would like to say I reckon Grundy and McLean are forming a terrific partnership in the ruck. McLean brings a real physicality and intelligence to his spells that give Grundy breathers, enabling him to go full bore.

Briggs imo is a terrific young ruck who is vital to the Giants game. He was by no means disgraced yesterday but undeniably had his colours lowered and was progressively worn down.

The extra 18 pages would be the 'get rid of Hayward' comments.

The arrogance of one Giants fan.

"We were comfortably beaten by a team that’s likely to lose in the second round of the finals. This is our year".

No. You are not entitled to it being "our year" and it actually requires more than just taking guys out and silly memes. You actually have to show up.

Their finals record against us has given them a false hope that their team isn’t capable of living up to.

I still can’t get over the idea that a Sydney based AFL fan would choose a plastic club like the Giants. Like how does that happen?
