True with what your saying but his luck with injury surely has to change sooner rather than later, same with Higgins. :D:thumbsu: :rainbow:
But you wouldn't be stupid enough to pick Higgin again, or Broughton for that matter. Yet Grimes.....

See the hypocrisy?

My main man Jack Watts dominated in an intraclub hitout today. Played as an outside midfielder and lit up Gosch's Paddock with his precise kicking, composure under pressure and follow up work. A decision has been made. Welcome to the "Vagina Destroyers" Wattsy!
Wowee.. Anyone would think it's the 2013 pre-season.. Duffield's a lock.. What do you think toxic

Can i please get peoples advise on my team???? :) Really appreciate feedback
cardje generally if you provide feedback or thoughts on someone else's team, people will provide feedback on yours. Give and take :)

Sando has talked about Brodie Smith as replacing Hendo. Plans were more midfield time, but now he'll be a rebounding defender
Guy McKenna said GAJ would play in the forward pocket..

Just saying..

This is my latest

Trying to be a little different and stay competitive
depending on rookies picked for round 1 Grigg and or Thomas may go for another rookie and a Premium
at this point though hoping (gambling ) with the Mid pricers in the mids and fwds

Thoughts
No offence man, but you can't be different and stay competitive. Picking a team like this is like picking lotto numbers. :thumbsu:

I disagree.

Grimes isn't made of spaghetti like how Higgins is.

The shoulder injury he had last year could have happened to anyone, he was just unlucky.

At Grimes price I reckon he's worth the risk for what he's capable of scoring IMO.

Did you have to mention Duffield? Now you're just taunting me. :p

If Grimes was only injured last year, forgivable, but he's been injured nearly every year if his career.

Anyway, each to their own. Like I said, no doubt he'll gun it now I've sworn off him after having him in his first thee years and being burnt to a crisp.

I just feel this is the year for Grimes where all the stars align for him, etc.

Paul Roos as coach, should now be used to the captaincy, doesn't have to play all over the place now with Melbourne's new midfield recruits (Cross, Mitchie, Tyson, Vince) and can now settle as the general in the backline playing that SC friendly rebounding defender role.

I can see him going 95 average, maybe a tiny bit more.

Good enough for me at his price, its a steal. :thumbsu:

I think grimes will score well, but yeah he cant stay on the park little worrying i had him in there took him out,had him in there, took him out also thinking swallow/brodbent.

I've gone for full on value up back and am really liking the look of it to be honest -

Hibberd, Hurn, Grimes, Swallow, Suckling, McDonald

Looks a very strong and solid backline IMO and I can just upgrade Suckling to Mitchell as my first or second upgrade after the byes. :thumbsu:

I rate Hibberd hugely and think he will improve even more so this year. Hurn has a mega easy first 7 or 8 games and there's talk of him playing on the wing plus doesn't need much of the ball to score well. Swallow has breakout written all over him and will play permanent midfield. Suckling like Thomas is a steal and excellent value at his price for what he can score and is the perfect platform to upgrade to a fallen premium.

Grimes though he's going to be great under Roos this year, I can just see it. :rainbow:

Gold!

Absolute brilliant movie is Planet of the Apes.

One of my all time favorites and the most amazing ending to a film you'll ever see. :D:thumbsu:

I get that but savage is not a rookie and ties up 160K you could spend elsewhere. Choose Dom Tyson and at least you'll save 100K.
Unless you think Savage could averge 90. He will avoid the tag for sure and should be in the midfield the whole time. Worth a gamble IMO. If he spuds it up can be traded to a rookie you missed.

I hope you're right. Had he only had injury troubles once, I'd be forgiving, but given his history he's just not worth the risk for me. I'd rather pay a little more for him down the track when I have a little more confidence that he's going to be there week in, week out. At the moment, I have 0 confidence in that.

Absolutely love the Hibberd and Hurn selections. Swallow is a good one IMO, natural point progression in the mids. Suckling - meh. McDonald I'd rather see in the midfield as it lets you upgrade him to a Premo MID down the track via the DPP as I think he'll mature in price quite nicely.
I've written about a few people's teams :p
I can't say I can recall them. What I'm saying, which I hope you take in the spirit of how it's meant, is that when you're relatively new to the board, you're best giving feedback on a previous post at the same time as posting up your team for analysis. That will encourage people to respond. Personally speaking, I read hundreds of posts on BF on a daily basis so I'm selective on responses. Nothing personal whatsoever, just a little advice :thumbsu:

With the accepted view that def (& fwd) rookies are likely to be 'thin' and the mid rookies not too bad, not sure I agree with initially putting a def rookie in the mids,

Any mid rookie who goes well and gains in $$ can be upgraded to a mid premo with a trade,

Also, not sure how the 'via DPP' comes into it? with him starting in mids, gaining cash in mids and eventually being upgraded to a mid premo?

?

Yeah, nah, typed that wrong. I meant upgrade to a def premo lol.

I reckon if JM was willing, he could set his backline up with NO rookie starters without costing him anything and then put McDonald in the MID :)

Why not just start him at D5/6, and then upgrade him to a def premo when time suits?

Solves 2 problems, instead of adding to an existing one,

IMO & FWIW

Because you can put non-rookie's at D5/D6 and not have to worry about the inevitable fluctuations in scores from a rookie player who doesn't have the body to maintain consistency and run out games. In the mids, McD can be moved to the bench or loopholed with players like Ellis, Martin, Michie etc.

Just my 2c ;)

Happiest I have been yet with my lineup right now. Structure is perfect I think, won't be changing much from here on out! (lol nice joke!)

I feel like I don't have enough rookies. But at the same time I think I picked enough mid pricers and value picks for their to still be revenue. Thoughts?
