Your clubs 8 untouchable players

There should be only one response to this: None.

Unless you're a Hawthorn fan, then you can list Lance Franklin.

Other than that, every other player on every list could theoretically be traded.
Why would Franklin be the only one in the league? He's not even the best player in the league.

youre saying hawthorn would have knocked back a trade of fevola, judd, murphy, gibbs and kreuzer and our number 6 pick for franklin
its a bloody term
anyone would be traded for the right price

I think he is

He is at a minimum the most important and damaging player under 25 = highest value possible.

Name one player you wouldn't trade for him.

If you say Gary Ablett you lose.

I was assuming we were talking 1=1 trades, but you're right. Thank you for further emphasizing my point :thumbsu:

In all honesty, I dont think North Melbourne have eight untouchable players. Those listing Brady Rawlings, Daniel Wells, Daniel Pratt and Michael Firrito are kidding themselves.

I'd say Harvey, McIntosh, Hale are our untouchables and then you could maybe make a case for some of our younger guys like Urquhart, Hansen et cetera.

That Petrie bloke goes alright too

edited for accuracy

Wow, I didn't realise a Carlton supporter would know more about my footy club then I would.

No way will Marty Clarke be a leading figure in Collingwood's future midfield? Well thats your opinion, but I think three-quarter of Collingwood supporters think so, and we'd all know more then you would about our own players :)

Alan Didak is very troubled? Firstly, how does that stop him, as I've stated, from being an absolute marvel and one-of-a-kind? He has more footballing skills then anyone on the Carlton list, and thats not even a troll. Secondly, how is he troubled? What has HE actually done? I'd rather Didak's track record then Fevola's, who I don't think is troubled, so troll somewhere else.

Well the fact that oppositions bother tagging Heath Shaw whilst playing at HBF tells you something, doesn't it? ;) Must mean he is THAT damaging, which makes him untouchable to me.

Nathan Brown is still a teenager who is a FB at AFL level and Carlile is 22 by April next year which is not old by any stretch of the imagination, but Brown is a better young prospect, considering he just played in his first senior season, and Carlile is in his third. Ow, also... LOL at naming Jamison.

Dale Thomas has the X-factor, and is a hard worker. Once he gets more experience at AFL level, he will have all the ingredients to become a superstar of the competition. What don't you understand about that?

What about Dane Swan? I think Scott Pendlebury is more of an untouchable then Dane Swan. The fact that Swan couldn't make it into the top 10 untouchables at Collingwood tells you just how much talent we've got unearthing at the moment.

I'd be more concerned at the fact players like Paul Medhurst, John McCarthy and Chris Dawes haven't made it onto the list.

10, Cameron Wood - Not too many quality young ruckman in the AFL.
9, John Anthony - Impressed as a forward in '08, but is actually a better defender.
8, Marty Clarke - Player destined to lead this future star midfield
7, Alan Didak - Absolute marvel. One of a kind.
6, Heath Shaw - One of the best rebounders in the game.
5, Nathan Brown - Name a better young FB.
4, Travis Cloke - 22 year old traditional CHF with great skill and endurance.
3, Harry O'Brien - Has really stamped himself as an important player in the backline.
2, Dale Thomas - X factor + hard work and commitment = Superstar career.
1, Scott Pendlebury - Collingwood's most valuable untouchable.

Alan Didak is the oldest in that group at 24-25.

You're wasting this exercise mate. Who would touch any of the bolded names anyway?!

If you are serious then the Pies are in trouble.

LOL, are you serious? Anthony, Clarke, Brown and O'Brien are all under 22 who are regular seniors at an AFL club which has made the finals in the last 3 years and no one would want them?

Don't be so disrespectful you ignorant prick. Geez, we all wish we could tank and pick up top 10 picks like Hawthorn to win the flag.

You'll be eating your words in due course.

I assumed you don't understand footy. You validated my view.

Perhaps you should heed your own advice.

Tongue in cheek mate. I know who they are.

As for understanding footy, see my comment above on your quote about tanking..

10, Cameron Wood - Not too many quality young ruckman in the AFL. yer and cameron wood isnt one of them, couldnt get a game over chris bryan this year, collingwood payed overs for him.9,

No such thing as an 'untouchable', every player is on the market subject to the deal being offered.

Christ. I think a bloke by the name of Chris Judd might have something to say about that...

Depends on the context.

First 8 players picked each week OR 8 VIPs for the future.

Based on the first scenario, it would be...

1. Judd
2. Stevens
3. Fevola
4. Waite
5. Murphy
6. Gibbs
7. Warnock
8. Jamison

Based on the future it would be...

1. Judd
2. Murphy
3. Gibbs
4. Waite
5. Kreuzer
6. Jamison
7. Walker
8. Warnock

West Coast:
Cox
Kerr
Glass
Masten
Kennedy
M. Brown
Ebert
McKinley

That will be the nucleus for a Premiership in 2012.

thats my opinion

So you expect a 21-22yo developing ruckman to be demanding a senior spot in a top 8 AFL side? Welcome to reality. There are always going to be youngsters playing in reserves who are developing to become quality AFL stars. I don't expect my new recruit to be a senior player straight away. He exceeded all expectations by even playing a handful of AFL games in '08.

As for Garland over Brown. Start a poll and we'll see who people would prefer. Brown may not be the BEST young defender in the AFL, but he is up there, and thats why he is untouchable, as a teenage FB.

I know im goingto get jumped on over some of my choices but here goes:

In no order:

1. Porplyzia-the only game breaker we have atm has stepped it up a level or 2
2. Mckay-IMO even though VB may be our next captian im tipping Mckay to be the better player.
3. Maric-looks to be our best ruckmen for the future.
4. Walker-I now he hasnt played a game yet and I know when people hear the word "potential" they say potential isnt everything but ATM he looks to be the best foward option for a long time.
5-Rutten-Holds down FB well
6-Bock-AA CHB has been a gone there he is important to our spine
7. VB- May be the future captian, I hope he can keep developing
8. Dangerfield- I know hes only played 2 games of AFL and one he looked lost but IMO he will be a gun and probably our best midfielder when we challenge next for the flag.

and numbat06 top 8 is
cox
lynch
a selwood
masten
ebert
mckinley
kerr
glass

please add your top 8 for your club
D. Glass (C)- AA FB
D. COX (VC)-AA Ruck
B. Waters - Tough Nut Defender, you cant teach that.
B. Ebert - HHF/Midfielder that will be a star, Rated as the WCE best first year player.
M. Brown - Key Forward possible FF can swing Back to CHB as well.
A. Selwood- One of the Best taggers in the AFL last year.
S. Hurn- Can be a Damaging Wingman or HF Flanker.
B. McKinley- FP or HF Flank he will kick around 50+ goals if he stays Injury Free.

Kerr, I would have Traded to PORT for pick 4 + 22 at Min.
I think a Deal could have been made with Essendon as well.

4. Mitch Brown - The best youngster
5. Daniel Kerr - Brownlow runner up
