Interrupted Preseason. Has been on a modified program since he had surgery on his Achilles.

I don't disagree with you THIS year. If the entire list is 100% fit - he might not be best 22.

But your desperate attempts to get me to post my best 22 for 2019 do nothing to diminish the fact you have been wrong about him for almost a decade.

He is extremely durable. Once injuries hit - watch him sneak in. I said earlier this preseason I expect him to play between 14 - 20 games this year (probably towards the back end). This hasn't changed.
“Injuries hit watch him sneak in”

Congrats you predicted he would get a game due to injuries

Wow! Surprise surprise!! David (Bradbury) Mackay has survived again. He'd better do what he did against the Hawks 2 years ago or it's back to 2nds city you go. Actually I kind of hope he doesn't cause it will give him a gold pass for the next 6 games. Still a very good team though. No excuses for Saturday. We must win both for our confidence and to also show the rest of the competition that we mean business this year.

Mackay was always going to play the minute Seedsman went in for surgery, not sure why anyone thought any different. Playing on the wing is a game of running and running, none of the new guys will have the legs for it, and Mackay has played so many games precisely because we haven't successfully developed any alternatives over the years beyond one way Atkins, and buying Seedsman.

I dunno what you guys are complaining about with Mackay. We'll get a very good comparison between him and some potential replacements, in particular chayce. I'll be looking very closely at their stats comparison. Also wondering whether they chuck knight back for a bit to see if he could be alright on a small at half back, not like us, but I can live in hope.

Finally, a rational and reasonable response.

EDIT - Until we get Pick 1, select the best young gun in the country... and then select Mackay over him :D
Hoping he won't be on our list in this scenario, probably the only way he won't be played I would suspect.

You didn't understand what was being talked about at all, did you?

The issue wasn't that he needs to play at all cost, it was that we were in a situation where we can't play him even if we wanted too (seeing it would absolutely mess up our structure and therefore sink whatever premiership aspirations we have) without relying on injuries. When it is your best prospect, that is damn shit list management.
In this instance, I wasn’t actually referrencing you. Although your greivance about resigning Lynch being a detriment to FOG is still comically and spectacularly incorrect

Good: Keath rewarded for being the in form player over Hartigan. Also happy for Murphy, think he earned his spot even with no-one giving him a chance.
Bad: Seed, Brown, Greenwood, Gooch all missing from a team with ‘no real injuries’
Ugly: DMAC, and the subsequent Melts about DMAC.

All in all, it’s pretty hard to expect anything else. Team is still infinitely better then our round 1 team last year, so there really isn’t too much to be upset about.

Pretty good team this week but looking forward to getting a fit Brown, Seedsman, Gallucci and McAdam into the 22 asap.i feel McAdam once match fit will add some pack contested marking steel in our forward half that isn't a strength currently.

Fairo.

That said, do I see a fit Fogarty in a round 1 lineup (noting he is still our best prospect at our club, though Jones may be close to parity there), or us sticking with 4 tall forwards as a set up? I'd be very careful throwing that stone because right now, I am completely correct with that call.

There are after all, only two positions Fogarty could viably play for us in this set up. One is occupied by our captain, the other is our third tall, and I wonder who that is?

The way they went on about Rance's injury last night was too much for me. Anyone would think he had his leg amputated.
I thought someone had died. Disappointing to see a star missing but they did carry on. Probably first week opening night lack of news excaserbated the story.

Why wasn't fogarty played off half back?
Hasn't got the tank yet and probably lacks a little speed needed off half back. Once Seedsman and Greenwood were out they were bound to play Mackay. Don't agree with it at all. No preseason games you don't play. Simple. I would have picked Greenwood over Mackay even though he only played 1 SANFL game but he offers more than Mackay. Greenwood can go forward and take a contested mark. Even a first gamer in Mchenry who showed something in the 1 match he played would have been a better option. You invest games in the youth when their is not a great deal of difference between 2 players. Especially when that player is 30 and has consistently not delivered when it mattered most. As a club we must move away from players like mackay and douglas and start developing the next generation. We are good enough to keep winning games at the same time imo.
