When they retire (every season theres a rumour going around about them retiring) they will be a HUGE loss. Bigger than any of their other retirees in recent years. I believe this week wil be their 11th successive season in which they have participated in a Grand Final.

Yeah i would say they are the difference between being a contender and not being in the race. You need BOTH out there as well. Usually when there are 0 Gowans or just the 1 Centrals are a completely different side.

I know where your are agoing with this Springy but don't forget that the tribunal system in the AFL is a lot different to the SANFL. Gowans twins wouldn't get away with half the stuff in the AFL these days.SpringChoke said:

Stiff/Mac that's what I have always thought, as you know. However, I was having a discussion with someone "in the know" from work yesterday and they reckon it's not an imprtant factor. Funny enough they are a Port Magpies supporter.
