I don't normally go to cover bands, but I'm off to see The Doors Alive tonight at the Enmore.
Yeah cover bands seem a bit of a pox thing to see. But back in the nineties I saw a U2 one and they were really good. Got to see them up close outside a pub on St Pat's Day. Saw the real thing from a distance in the grandstand at Waverley Park.

And I guess with The Doors you don't really have a choice.

Wunderhorse are joining Idles - make sure you check them out.
They are joining Fontaines.

Nation of Language supporting IDLES who are definitely worth checking out also

Doubt Fontaines make it to Australia, the guitarist is playing shows with a Guantanamo Bay hood on and taking pissy sissy swipes at photographers and they're cancelling or half playing shows.

Next year is gonna be massive for me

Fontaines DC
Death From Above 1979 (been waiting over 12+ years to see them)

I happened to be in Serbia earlier in the year and didn’t realise he was playing with The Smile when I was there. Spewing I didn’t know.

The Smile are pretty shit tbh, saw someone refer to them as Radiohead for technical nerds and that's true. no heart or atmosphere in them at all.

say what you want about their music, but by god Coldplay know how to put on a show. that was mighty entertaining. crowd in the palm of chris martin's hands.

Ok, they put the cue in the rack musically a decade ago. Their latest album is their first where I don't like any songs from it.

No surprise some afrobeat special guest is on the new album just like when they cashed in by having Rihanna on a song ages ago.

Now they only care which local celebrity they can get on stage with them and if the sky full of stars wristbands still trend on social media.

Just like Kiss you can't hate on it, they put a lot of money into their shows and I saw Kiss a year ago for the first time and it was enjoyable. I have not seen Coldplay yet but I imagine it's a similar experience to that Kiss show I saw.

Can't wait to see IDLES. Missed their last shows because the wife was selfishly giving birth. Would have loved to see them in a smaller venue, oh well.

They were absolutely fantastic at the Corner and the Croxton sometime pre pandemic, the ideal size venues for bands like that. I haven't paid too much attention to them since their second record. Find them a bit annoying now, which is a shame because when they came out with Brutalism it all sounded so fresh to me at that time.
