Knotfest was superb. Not been impressed with Parkway's recent offerings, so was astounded by their set. Especially standing on the wrong side so we could get a good view of Slipknot, who were also outstanding. Other highlights were In Flames who played a great set and rewarded a crowd surfer in a wheelchair with a beer, and finally getting to complete the Big 4 with Megadeth, who were as good as I could have hoped for. Spiritbox were also very good, and I enjoyed most of the other sets, be they from less well known acts like Knocked Loose and Malevolence or old favourites like Trivium and Amon Amarth. An exceptional line up to enjoy and the sound was far better than Good Things achieved 4 months ago.

Went to the smashing pumpkin’s thing yesterday in port Melbourne

Pretty good, all three main bands were great, amyl and the sniffers great energy as always, janes addiction were good though honestly not super familiar with a lot of there stuff, smashing pumpkins were pretty flawless, only slight disappointment was they didn’t play disarm

The wrestling was a bit of a giggle, not the worst distraction in between sets i guess

I was lucky enough to grab a ticket to see alt-j at Northcote Theatre tonight for one of the An Awesome Wave 10th anniversary shows.

It was bloody perfect, that's why you f**k around to see an act like alt-j in a theatre (as opposed to the tennis centre tomorrow night or at Bendigo). The sound was amazing, their light show was incredible - just a phenomenal show. It even had a cool crowd - people were pulling out their phones to take a photo or a 15 second clip, but there was none of that bullshit of modern concerts where you're standing behind people who have their phone up the whole time.

"Perfect" extended to the whole night. I jagged the ticket about 8.10pm. I live in Thornbury, so that wasn't an issue. I jumped on a tram at 9.20pm, I walked into the theatre bang on 9.30 - alt-j weren't screwing around, they were on stage at 9.31.

They played for a tight hour and 20, about 10 minutes past the point that my back started to get sore, then I walked outside and was able to jump straight on a tram. I was out for a total of about an hour and 40, and my back is golden!

You can like whatever you like, just found it amusing to see those two bands included with others so very rarely seen in the same orbit. Maybe I should have included the winking emoji, wasn't having a crack.
No issues. Love myself a bit of acoustic. So does the wife.

Polaris/August Burns Red/Kublai Khan TX/Currents
The Beatles White Album tour with Chris Cheney, Tim Rogers, Phil Jamieson & Josh Pyke
Highly Suspect (I hate their new stuff but keen on the old - hopefully they play some 😬)
Paramore
OK so my dumb ass has booked both Polaris / White album for the same night... gotta pick one

also now added The Living End 25th anniversary show as festy hall

My girl Angelina Jordan at the Music Hall in Portsmouth NH in September.
Begging Zeus, Thor and the rest of them the heat dome and also the smoke from the Canadian bush fires
are gone by the time I get there.
A bit selfish I know.

Has anyone been to a gig at Kings Park botanical gardens in Perth?

I will be seeing the war on drugs there and it looks like a nice spot if the weather is good.
I’ve been but it’s been more sit down stuff. I’m looking forward to this gif - spoon are great too if you haven’t listened before.

I got a ticket for the little standing area at the front.

I have heard a few of Spoons albums and they are decent for an opening act.

It's a very good excuse to go to Perth for 3-4 nights.

Spoon have been around for longer too! Seen them once before and it was such a tight show.

I feel like it will be a pretty chilled vibe though especially at Kings Park.
