From the Reid offer article about Zak....

"Sydney’s other priority signing is speedy defender/midfielder Zak Jones, who has drawn significant interest from Victorian clubs, including Essendon and North Melbourne. Sydney already has an offer on the table to Jones and is confident of retaining him."

So what's the bloody hold up

Except nobody would be interested in Mcviegh, as it's gotta be his last season you'd think, and Tippett is 3/4 done as well. Who would bother taking Sinclair??

i wasn't thinking like that but i did mention trade or delist/retire. its likely mcveigh will retire. it is a matter of making some money available if jones is getting bigger offers from melbourne. I'm sure if we got rid of two or thee of those previous names it wouldn't be the end of the world.

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
Round 10:
Zak Jones, Sydney Swans, has been charged with striking Luke Breust, Hawthorn, during the third quarter of the Round 10 match between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn, played at the SCG on Friday May 26, 2017. Round 13:
Zak Jones, Sydney Swans, has been charged with striking Dan Butler, Richmond, during the third quarter of the Round 13 match between the Sydney Swans and Richmond, played at the MCG on Saturday June 17, 2017. In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Round 15:
Contact between the Sydney Swans’ Zak Jones and Melbourne’s Mitch Hannan from the fourth quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The ball was loose with both players coming to the contest. Jones runs through the line of the ball and seeks to hit or tap the ball with his right hand to his advantage, making contact with the ball. At the same moment, he braces for contact with Hannan and high contact is made to the Melbourne player. It was the view of the panel that Jones was contesting the ball and no further action was taken.
Thanks for that, I thought I was going a bit loopy!

Players I would trade or move on to keep jones : Lloyd, Robinson, McVeigh, Rohan, Reid, Sinclair, tippet, Naismith. Some of these players I really rate but I rate jones higher for his power, disposal and pace.
Rohan ? Yet you rate Jones higher than Rohan for power, disposal and pace ? FFS man, get a grip (oh, it appears you have)

If you don't have basic comprehension skills there is no point conversing with you.

I comprehended the same as bungee but it's your entitled opinion!
Nowhere did I say jones has those attributes to a greater extent than Rohan. I was just listing players I would be content to lose for Rohan.

Now I am confused. Are these players you woud lose for Jones or Rohan ? Or are you saying we should lose Rohan so we have more money to pay Rohan ? How is Rohan faster than Rohan ? Or do you just think he's faster than you think he is so we should pay Rohan more ? Do we keep Jones or is this about Rohan ?

Off Rohan his boat!

Zak is critical to our team.

Kennedy - contested freak. Bull
Parker- strong mark, good goal scorer.Strong in contest.
Hanners (when fit) - strong running high possession two way mid
Heeney- versitile mid, strong contested mark. prototype modern footballer.
Jones- SPEEDY physically aggressive attacking mid.

All our mids bring a different skill set and when they are fit and firing, compliment each other perfectly. Losing jones speed and aggression will leave a massive hole

A few clubs with a lot of $ in need of players like Zac.
I don't blame a player going for $. It is what it is.

Agree, if there is that big a difference between what we're willing to pay and what the player wants, there's nothing much we can do.
