The Carlton Football Club has commenced day one of the AFLW Sign and Trade Period by announcing that reigning Best and Fairest winner, Mimi Hill, has signed a one-year contract extension.
The 20-year-old had already committed to playing in season eight but extended her contract until at least the end of 2024, indicating her strong commitment to Carlton. Hill’s exceptional performance in her first full AFLW season, following an ACL injury during her debut year in 2021, solidified her reputation as a star of the competition on the field and a leader of the club off the field. As the focal point of a young midfield, she averaged 23 disposals and demonstrated her quality through consistency and class.
Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd praised Hill’s character, professionalism, and drive to set an example for her teammates. He added that Hill’s commitment to Carlton was a clear indication of her maturity and dedication, and he looked forward to establishing a playing group that is resolute and committed to advancing the program.
