Dylan Shiel is the gift that keeps on giving. One of the best parts of that video was Shiel at 1:20.
To think that GWS wanted our number 1 pick for Shiel (Walsh), the pick would have likely been split to get Shiel and not-Walsh. If not that, our future 1st round pick would have definitely been on the table (we used that pick to split into Kemp and Philp).
So fortunate that Shiel made his decision in the best interests of Carlton.

With everything our supporters have had to deal with over the last few years in terms of performance, the universe has definitely balanced out in terms of the FA and trade period with not getting Shiel and Coniglio. What wouldn’t we have afford if we got either player? Maybe Saad or Cerra or Williams or maybe Cripps or McKay’s new contracts. Or maybe Sam Walsh‘ contract would have been put off.

Reply: why would we want you when we got Cerra and Hewett collectively for the same salary and we paid pick 6 and a future third. What did the bummers give up for you pick wise again?
