3 from 17. Soon to be 3 from 22, thats spoon territory

Sorry to be a pedant, but the record over the past 17 matches is 5-12.

From the 2021 bye the club has gone 3-11.

Perhaps more alarming is the 1-7 home record during that period.

Or that the club record of now 18 consecutive matches of scoring less than 100 points only continues to grow.

Either way, it is a situation that is embarrassing and frankly, intolerable.

well that sounds much worse. I passed comment on another posters 3-17 stat, and you havent added a small pinch of positivity to the situation.

Don Pike fits that bill.
Jarrad Schofield is the man. Has won 3 flags with Subi and Port has fallen apart since he left.

Pyke could be another option, but he'd want to have fixed everything that lead to Adelaide's camp fiasco and him getting sacked.

How much did Pike have to do with the camp?

Feel he was collateral damage from that mess.

Going to be a long time before we see a century again.

Kennedy and Darling really off the pace at the moment and cannot get separation.*
Slow ball movement into forward line means it’s ‘king of the pack’ every time.
Midfielders struggle to kick goals.

* playing three talls (Allen’s return) is not the answer Simmo. Allen and JK OR JD not all three.

Would love a Chocco type ripping strips off blokes
Does that make you do your job better?
The days of having a boss who yells and carries on like a psycho are long gone.
What we actually need is a coach who is willing to make the hard decisions, someone who can inspire the players to play at a high intensity and someone who is willing to change their game plan as the game evolves.
Not someone who stands at the front and yells abuse at everyone

I am still dirty about Hurns 300th and what followed. After serving up one of the most disgraceful efforts I have ever seen, in a club legends milestone game, every one of our senior players played that following week

That basically encapsulates Simpsons entirely

When was the last time we won the inside 50 count.

All the Simpson fans have disappeared which is disappointing. Would genuinely like to hear some logical reasons why Simpson should continue other than he’s contracted. Numbers speak for themselves and he looks like a shell of a man at the pressers. Hopefully he can put his pride aside and walk when Kennedy, Hurn and shuey go at a minimum

Unfortunately, that is all too often exactly what happens.

Well then you've got the old Gaff Game-Stopper, another of Simmo's favourites.
Gaff receives the outlet pass on the half back flank and has multiple options to kick to further up the ground.
But what's this? Oh that's right Gaff is so one-sided he can only kick forwards if he receives the ball and can immediately sweep on to his left foot.
Instead he plays on, attempts to run around in a circle to get on to his left foot but by the time he does this all his options further down the ground have been closed down so he's forced to kick backwards across the ground. All momentum ruined.

Good to see people aren‘t jumping the gun on here after a horrific loss. I’m honestly confused how Simmo is now trying to “keep his job” just because we, admittedly, ****ed up selection. Obviously the result did not go according to plan, but people really need to read the beginning of this thread to get a sense of how emotional investment is twisting peoples judgement fo the current situation. I have yet to see any reason why Simmo should be sacked at the moment, and how that would solve anything - in fact, it would hardly make sense. I’d rather give Simmo’s role with Knights and Schofield a little more time beyond our worst injury crisis in a decade.

Is it not one of his main responsibilities to pick the players to perform?

Jumping the gun? Mate, it's the same stuff people have been saying for ages.
And no one thought we were really going to win on Friday but I reckon people would have been a lot more accepting of the loss if we'd kept more of the high effort, younger guys in the side instead of bringing in a whole bunch of senior players who couldn't run out the first 20 minutes of the game, never mind the whole thing.

Then why have a match committee as an entity if it‘s ultimately the coach that selects the team? What’s the point when we already have assistant coaches, managers etc?
The match committee is pretty much the coaching panel, possibly the football manager and maybe another senior club member is involved as well.
But there's no way in hell Simpson doesn't have the final say
