We’re not making the 8 fella - no if’s, buts, or maybe’s.

Completely agree, but try telling that to Simpson.

He's quickly approaching Worsfold levels of fan animosity. Shades of 2013 when he was completely cooked as a coach and undid all his hard work by rolling out the 3 ruck policy, not playing the youth and having us break record after unwanted record getting smashed that year before he finally called it quits.

List got rejuvenated (McGovern entered the scene, Duggan, Yeo), new game plan got brought in, and we played in a grand final 2 seasons later.

Personally i think Simmo will do whatever he can to scab a few wins late this year by rolling out his aging list, and we'll end up finishing 11th instead of 18th.

That's the biggest worry and has been for 2-3 years.

What I couldn't fathom was that in yesterday's press conference he said Shuey, Yeo and Kelly would all play reduced minutes. Then why pick all 3? Why the fu** would you voluntarily nobble the team's chances when a young mid like O'Neill has just played his best game for the club?

I wonder if the AFL would send a please explain to Simmo on tanking or match fixing I`m being ridiculous to emphasis how stupid the MC were being by adding not just 3 but 4 under done players ..And expecting the rest of the team to pick up the interchange rotations slack ..

How many years are left on his contract? The last three years have been a brutal, predicable, downhill slide. Seems very stubborn and resistant to change, as well as slightly delusional at pressers.

Contracted to the end of 2024…

I think if we get some semblance of a “healthy” list and the season continues to spiral without any real change to game plan etc, then the club may act. It will be a very expensive exercise, but they may be willing to do it, particular if crowds fall away and we start losing money in the key metrics. A change and all the invigoration that comes with it may be a better option…

Personally, I'd be giving Jarrad Schofield the top job, and I'd be going after Dean Cox as an assistant.

This seems like a unique, and thus far unheard-of theory... I'm interested to hear more, if you'd be willing to expand?
Here’s a quote from one of our premiership players.

Though he was just one of a dozen coaches among 40 players, Schofield was full of praise for Mitchell’s influence, declaring he was the best assistant he played under in 14 years of AFL football.

“Put it this way, we wouldn’t have won in 2018 without Sam Mitchell as an assistant coach,” Schofield said to foxfooty.com.au on Wednesday.

“If you asked any player who was at West Coast in 2018 they would speak very highly of Sam Mitchell. He’s highly intelligent with a high footy IQ. He’s a great educator who can teach young and senior players. He’s a direct communicator.

some sections of the crowd a very small minority were so disgusted by what they saw that they walked out according to some twitter reports ..

I found the last year of Woosha to be sad. He was completely cooked. Believed in something that the whole nation didn't see. Cooked, we knew it, the players knew it, the nation knew it, it was the world's worst charade.

The last few years of Malthouse were sad. He was like the Alpha Father. But time had passed him by. Infruriateted me, with the game plan of play it along the boundary line all game, at all costs.

Simmo. I just don't know. He's not helping himself. We'd cut him a lot of slack if the list was turning over, phasing the older guys to the periphery of the starting 18. Giving youngsters a go in the midfield rather than shunting them all to rot on a HFF flank. The recruiting has been pretty bad. We are crying out for mids but refuse to recruit any.

It's all on Simmos shoulders. Accept and change and he has a chance. Stay resolute and not see what most others are seeing and he'll be a dead man walking soon enough.

Pretty sad when people don't accept change.

We’re also going to have done pressure when Leon cameron and ken
Hickley get the flick to make sure we’re not stuck with potentially 3rd best candidate

A lot of Adam’s pressers right now come across like a scene from the last episode of Game of Thrones, where Jon Snow tells Tyrion he can’t justify the actions of his Queen, before immediately launching into several justifications for her actions (wrItInG iS HuRD).

If you’re going to say there’s no excuses for the performances, you probably don’t need to explain them and just label them as ‘reasons’ instead.

The failings of selection, gameplan and performance weren’t just on show on Friday night. They’ve been endemic for the last 3 and a bit seasons. Why doesn’t he learn from the heart and desire shown last week?

As an example - Shuey should be barred from centre bounces for the rest of his career to make way for XON, West, heck even Duggan. Show us you have the stones to make these moves which may hurt in the short term, but wil actually give this side some direction going forward beyond saving your job this year.

WC have won 3 of their last 17 AFL games, broken all sorts of statistical records including lowest tackle count.
We are in desperate need of a new coach, I hope Simpson steps aside.
Thanks for all your efforts, and in particular getting Sam Mitchell to the club which got us a premiership.
Time to move on.
3 from 17. Soon to be 3 from 22, thats spoon territory

So why was this thread deader than my social calendar?

Because everyone’s bright and happy when we win, and looking for something to whinge and moan about when we lose.

We lost this game on so many levels. Selection, credits in the bank, a coach who doesnt reward good performances, lack of interest in older players.........its a long list.

So a fair bit more to complaign about than last week. And last week the selection problem was taken out of the coaches hands due to players not being available.

O'Neil is being jerked around like Brander. We have parents of young players posting about rules and standards for some but not others. The Brander fiasco was just terrible.

The core values of building and selecting a team have been erroded away and we now have a fractured playing group and a coach who has lost the trust of some of those players and others arent listening.

Next coach is either Don Pike or Dean Cox. At least at the Swans they know how to build strong work ethics and playing culture.

No Nic Nat exposed how weak and pathetic our midfield really is. In fairness he has probably carried our mids for many a year.

There are a rich vein of candidates out there, however i'm concerned that if we move too late than we will miss out of them given that Adelaide, Essendon, G.W.S and Port will most likely have new coaches next season.

So with us that would be 5 coaching changes?

When has that ever happened?

Crows and Essendon will have the same coaches.

Port, will land Buckley, Giants will make a move and Clarkson will coach somewhere.

Dew may survive unless Clarkson is interested.

Simo will get one more year to show something.

There's a rumour that we hired woosha in a similar circumstance. Freo was very interested so we shit canned judge and signed woosh before they could. Worked a charm.
