Emergency to be chosen from four players, my pick would be Lienert. Heath named to show him he is close & travelling well.

EMG
[31] Jarrod Lienert, [34] Tom Highmore, [42] Max Heath, [13] Ryan Byrnes

At least this game isn't at the Giants regular home ground, they don't play at Manuka all that often and they haven't played there so far this year.

Looking at last year's fixture the last home game GWS played at Manuka was a Friday night game against the Dogs almost a year ago on the 23rd April.

GWS lost that game by 39 points with Toby Greene kicking 4 of their 9 goals so if we can keep him relatively quiet then we should win tomorrow night.
GWS don’t have a very good record at Manuka

In previous years I feel like in must win games we would’ve dropped the young inexperienced player for Jweb, love that we’re backing them in this time.

Hogan out for them is a big plus for us also.

A few random stats from the AFL site.

McKenzie with the most spoils from a midfielder in the league (13).

Wilkie has been in 13 contested defensive one on ones (CDOOO), and has only lost one. Only Lachie Keefe and May with better percentages.

Howard with the equal most spoils (42) in the comp, but an ordinary CDOOO of 37.5%.

Butler and Crouch both with 9 tackles inside 50 (equal second in the comp). Crouch the only non forward in the top 10. Crouch also 2nd for tackles and 6th for clearances.

Marshall 6th for score launches.
Wilkie should be in AA conversation. He just doesn’t get any attention. Absolute jet.

A good sign when a player that hasn't done a lot wrong gets dropped.

They are going with the double ruck attack. Will be a different challenge for Marshall and Hayes.

Lienert a bit stiff to be dropped, he's been pretty good for us so far this year but with some good players returning some guys are going to be unlucky.

We still have a more settled line up than GWS who are making a few changes, they are all good inclusions for them though, especially Toby Greene.

Definitely stiff but just shows the quality we have to be in a position to drop someone in decent form

We always seem to go with a genuine ruckman in our emergencies. With paddy and Campbell out, hes the only one left

Highmore or Lienert will be the sub. No way known will they give it to Byrnes 3 weeks running
Yep, makes sense if Marshall were to trip on a step before the game that you’re not also paying a fine to bring a ruckman from outside of the emergencies.
