Speaking of Top Gun, I'm watching it tomorrow with mrs J.

Not with the kids... they have enjoyed enough Gold Class movies through the BOMAD (Bank Of Mum And Dad).

My Mum asked me to see Top Gun with her. I politely declined. My antipathy to Tom Cruise kicked in when he put his spell on Katie Holmes and has only intensified since then.

I'm trying to get my son to go instead. Just need him to see the first film and then he's set to be a wingman.

I remember getting a Gold Class gift voucher as a thanks from the parents of an U13 footy side I coached (I was 15/16). Felt bloody gypped when they wouldn't serve me booze.

Sounds like a lovely time.

Have you lost that loving feeling? I too am conflicted by the Scientology, the couch jumping on Oprah etc. As a Hollywood action star Cruise is unparalleled.

I hope your boy agrees to go with nanna, because his dad is too much of a grumpy fkr.

Gold class is awesome. Hoyts Lux is better in our area. Hoyts Ringwood > Village Doncaster

I hope you've recovered from the trauma of not being served booze as an underage person living in Australia.

It prompted me to spend $80 with a mate on two of the worst fake IDs known to man, so I think I took it in my stride.

Other than taking kids to movies when they were young I don't think I have been to a cinema this century. Even watching in Gold Class doesn't appeal. Don't know what that says about me. Nothing good I think.

I'll go 2-3 times a year. Some flics are just meant for the big screen. "The Martian", <Insert James Bond Title Here>, The Revenant etc

The rest I enjoy more at home.

Gold Class means there is a minimum distance between any Homer Simpson munching loudly on his popcorn and yours truly. I think I know what that says about me. :)

I was about to post the same. If Gold Class means I’m going to have to tolerate people walking in front of me mid-movie to serve Bec Judd her champers and blow, count me out. I’d rather slum it uninterrupted.

Mind you, I don’t get excited about movies coming out too often. Nolan movies, and that’s about it now. The last movie I was keen to see on the big screen was Motherless Brooklyn, and even then it became impractical and I just caught it on streamer.

Without being mean I think you know that we know

Is Bec wearing her red dress?

Can’t tell, it’s too dark, and I’m trying to work out if Leo will be able to bring Fischer back from limbo.
