I'm ok to have someone have a bit of dig at early 2017 and the Hogan trade, but at least give the full picture with what happened with the McCarthy trade.

Only analysing half the story is, at best, lazy and at worst, biased.

Then again, half the story with a Quarterbrain, is probably over-acheiving

Spot on. You have to add Logue in if you are mentioning the trade for McCarthy. Anything else and you come across as a flog.

Even the ending with the comment about the Eagles fans not being patient and they would have to rebuild Lathlain etc... BS.

He should also have pointed to the success of Aish, Acres, Colyer, Lobb and Brodie. All who were got on the cheap and allow the young guns to develop with some steel around them.

There is some slight truth and the 18 draft will go down as a disaster missing a King brother for hogan who we then punted for nothing. Having said that, we have had far more wins than losses over the last 6 years when it comes to draft and trading.

There are two bad trades / experienced pick ups there, but most of the rest are either good or neutral. Kersten and Matera never really went anywhere, but they were cheap, Aish, Acres, Lobb have all been handy. IMO from that crop we did OK.

Hamling was a really good recruit too.

Yep. Hogan and McCarthy aside, most of the players were at worst cheap depth, some quite handy, and many possible players in a future premiership side.

Haha I do like that perspective. I’d like to know what people think his ceiling will average out at… can he become an attacking defender with ultra pace? While being able to lock down.

Roger was ridiculously good. Cool, calm, skilful, class for days. Tough in the contest. If he can be something like Roger wand not do a knee we will have a top line A grader for years to come.
