How the f does he not get chucked in the middle when we were getting torched in clearances? Was I just that disinterested and didn't see it? Am I so out of touch?
Bring back the bash brothers.

I said the same thing on the day. I'm actually not a fan of having Gray in there in these situations, I'd rather him forward close to goal (he's not particularly defensively minded), so flick Peps into his spot and let Gray do what he does best late in games, which involves being within range of goals.

I am however completely against Peps rucking in these crunch times... there was a stage in the last quarter where he was taking a ruck tap deep in defence..... his undersized ruck style is working in general as he adds to our onball brigade, but at any time they could pluck a push/blocking free against him... I dont want one of those giving up a goal.

he shouldn't be rucking at all. it's not genius from the coaches at all. it further highlights the atrocious decision to trade ladhams and then not recruit any experienced back-up. if we think peps can inject some hardness around stoppages then just give him stints in the flipping middle FFS to neutralize teams when they're DOMINATING us in clearances.

They didn't put him in the middle as these numbers in the link below prove. Our stuff ups in the centre bounces was that we didn't man up at all in the 1st quarter and when we did after that we made fumbling errors and Essendon got the ball from those errors.

But Boak, Amon and Wines won plenty around the ground. It was 3 centre clearances - all Boak, to 12 around the ground for that trio.

Give him the best team man or whatever it is award already.

Doing all the tough stuff. Sometimes doing the silky stuff too. Never gives in. Was almost the only positive of the 0-5 start.

Fos Williams medal for best team man.

SPP’s insane effort every week is what Fos’ Creed is all about. Would be a highly worthy winner of that award.

The knock on Sam for me was always that he played dumb, was in too much of a hurry in game to make an impact. Didn't know how and when to throw his weight around, and didn't know when to lower the eyes and hit the short target. This season it clicked for him. He had a career low clanger average and for the first time in his career he had as many frees for as against when he was previously batting at about 1:2.

Excited to see where he can take his game now he's learned there's time and space to make good decisions.

imagine if our dumbshit coach would let him have a run in the middle now and then instead of throwing in a cooked robbie gray
