When the end of season review is done, if they don’t look into the extent to which our training (and playing) surface plays in our injuries I’m going to shoot somebody

At the rate we're going we might as well just order a bunch of these:

Shuey thread for those banned from BigBooty
I looked up BigBooty and I definitely didn't see shoes on there...

Still wasn't disappointed though so that's a win

Freo had the same issues and they seem to have figured it out this year. This is one of the few times we should be trying to copy them.

Gawd, who now?

LIGHT SESSION

Most of the players who faced Richmond trained at Mineral Resources Park on Monday but only for around 15 minutes.

Nic Naitanui appeared unscathed after an impressive return but there was no sign of captain Luke Shuey after one of his best games in recent years.

Veteran Josh Kennedy, who was rested against the Tigers, did not train ahead of the Eagles clash with his old side, Carlton, on Sunday.

Inactive trio Oscar Allen, Tom Cole and Campbell Chesser were joined in the rehab group by midfielder Connor West.

West played in the loss to Richmond but was a notable new member of the small contingent, along with Hugh Dixon, Luke Foley and Tom Joyce.

Forward Liam Ryan also took it easy at training and wore strapping around his lower right leg.

GETTING SOME MINUTES

While most of the best 22 called it a day early, the rest of the fit and available squad stayed out on the track.

Mature-age recruit Greg Clark and mid-season pick-up Jai Culley, as well as developing ruckman Callum Jamieson were among the Eagles to have an extended session, coming off a bye round in the WAFL over the weekend.

Also in that group was small forward Zac Langdon, who could be available as soon as this weekend after recovering from an ankle injury.

CALLING SIMMO

Adam Simpson emerged from the building at Eagles HQ about 20 minutes into the session, when most players had returned to the shed.

The 2018 premiership coach took a phone call while on the ground and had short conversations with coaches and trainers, before joining the majority group on the artificial grass inside.
