Just taking this opportunity to give another 🖕🏼 to the posters that called him soft.

From now on I think we're going to have to introduce a rib-breaking component to the draft combine. Anyone who can't get back up after having their ribs smashed to pieces doesn't get drafted, full stop. I don't wanted any soft-ribbed campaigners on my team.

I don't think I had dreaded attending a game more than our late Sunday game against Melbourne last month.

Fast forward a month and after a sterling effort against the Cats, NN a potential straight in and 3 win Essendon ripe for the picking, I can't wait for Friday.

Do you guys know how the “inactive” players and the top ups work?

In particular if we make somebody like McGovern inactive, can we bring back a Tom Cole etc even if the top ups (Culley / Dixon / Naish / Joyce) are still on the list?

Short answer is yes

One on/one off

But we still have a list spot available for Cole (as an example) to be reactivated without having to put someone else on the inactive list

Yeah.

Culley not a top up and we didn't take a second pick in the MSD, in case the club wanted to bring Cole back in for some games at the end of the year.

Not that I’m against putting him in cotton wool for the year given what a shitshow this season has proven to be but did the club actually elaborate on what Chesser’s ankle/foot injury was? Did he even have surgery?

Sheed does a syndesmosis (high ankle sprain) in the same game in late February and is ready for WAFL action in late May. Chesser though is supposedly no chance of coming back at all in 2022.

Sound like broadly comparable injuries on the initial reports but Chesser remains inactive and looks likely to do so for the season.

He explains it in the Coast to Coast episode. Last week, I think.
