There is football ability there not the injuries like raz. I don't know what impact on his career the death of his brother months out from being drafted had. As well as other family stuff in the past couple years.
A move home for him is worth a risk to take, being closer to family may help. It'll be cheap and worth a punt.

I'm fine taking him if it's practically for free, and will have no expectations that he will live up to his original draft number just because he's coming home.
I'd be happy if he can contribute as a genuine afl quality defender, and doesn't just become another list clogger
It'd be fitting if we end up with a bunch of meh and a few picks druring trade week and the recruiters have to scramble to work out who's draftable because they put all their chips in for being active in trade period.
How untenable would having wingard back be?

Are we still interested in Ely Smith?
Will be interesting to see what happens with delistings at Melbourne now. Rosman at the Dees and Eyre at the dons could be speculative tall options.
You would hope we are in Logue’s ear also.
Rosas and Jeffery at the suns could be anything.

Going by the current chatter Wingard would likely be cheaper and I wouldn't be surprised if he has more games left in him than Rioli.

I recall a few ITKs have said that Wingard is a chance to return to SA but it would be to the Crows
Chad over Rioli would be quite an easy decision

Chad doesn’t come back to Port. I would be surprised if he came to the crows with Nicks in charge there. He was a part of the brigade that booted him.
