Who do you support in college?

I have been wanting to get into it for ages. I was going to support Penn State for the Philadelphia area connection but haven't taken getting involved in the game seriously enough.
I have a few I love to watch but you get drawn to the big teams because it’s what you watch most of the time. Its going to be another interesting year because of the changes to rules around recruitment, money, and the movement of teams. Teams that weren’t players are shaking up the statues quo and teams like Alabama don’t like it.

Yeah I'll have to give it a proper go. Think it starts in a couple of weeks. The atmosphere is on another level, it's interesting how much better the atmosphere at NCAA games is better than NFL. Probably something to do with corporates attending the NFL games more.

It’s more affordable and you can get tickets, plus as you say the crowd is different. I just love it as a fan I think it’s unmatched.

So glad the NFL is back.

Eagles up 14-0 early on the Jets. Excited for the regular season, think we've made some good moves and if Hurts continues to improve I can see us pushing deep into the playoffs.

If Hurts can't succeed this year he never will.

Probably the best O-line in football, a decent running back committee and some real weapons in the passing game.

Cowboys are overrated as per every season. Your boys should win the division.

NFL season opener and it looks like a ripper 😍
Cannot wait for it. Hope the Bills slaughter them but you're probably hoping for the opposite.

Haven't been this excited for a season in a while.

The eagles are being talked up big time, I still think the cowboys have you covered. So many question on so many teams this year which makes things very interesting. I think we’re going to be crap and expect to get smashed in Miami, we don’t play well there and they are loaded on offence. Question for todays game and the season in general. How long before a linebacker is waiting for josh Allen and he winds up cam newton, Andrew luck. Get out of the pocket sure just get down, keep trying to run over guys and 1 will be waiting.

Cowboys sucked you in again? I'm looking forward to another year of the media hyping them up and watching them fail in outstanding fashion once again haha

Bills looked very good today, to go on the road in the season opener against the defending champs and win like that is big.

Looked great although 2 turnovers v 3 turnovers but a great win on the road. Just watch allen is still stiff arming linebackers someone will ring his bell for sure. Your mob have added some pieces but hurts is still bottom dozen qb’s in the league while Prescott is about 10 - 14. The team with the best qb usually wins plus Elliot and pollard are a very good pair of running backs. Pollard is getting more of the ball and given they‘re completely different it’s very effective. The cowboys have some problems for sure but I think whoever misses will get a wild card spot.

I think Allen's bigger frame gives him confidence to take a few licks but you're right he will get rocked one day if he doesn't adjust.

As for the Cowboys, I've come to the belief that they are just a franchise with a damaged culture. They could have the best side in the league and they will still find a way to bottle it. A few in the media have turned on them since Prescott thought he was Barry Sanders and took off for the endzone with 10 seconds left in their playoff exit but they still get an insane amount of favouritism in general. They actually do have a decent side which makes it even sweeter. They should have won at least one Superbowl in the Prescott era.

They have discipline problems, the most penalised team I believe plus they need a decent head coach. Jerry Jones stuck with Garrett because he did as he was told. I don’t think McCarthy sees out the year if things go badly. I saw Jones sprint down one day and demand romo come back in after injuring his back, didn’t end well. I’ll own up my eldest is a massive fan and my dad and a lot of his family were born on the family farm that is now part of greater Dallas Fort Worth so I have a soft spot for them.

I was going to say McCarthy probably the first coach to get the arse this year, funny because he's a better coach than Garrett was but because Jerry's got so much power if you step out of line you're in trouble.

Cheers for spilling the beans, I was thinking shit how can someone have such optimism for the Cowboys, you've got to be connected in some way to like them. They're like Collingwood in alot of ways.

Haha mate I was a collingwood member for years I’ve met so many players when I was a young guy. We have a long connection to the club or I should say did, my great, great grandfather was at the meeting at Grace Darling hotel and is one of the founders of the club. My great uncle was involved down there for years, I used to go along with him, nan and others sit in the stand and have a ball. My dad was having none of the collingwood crap and living a suburb away started following the saints and the rest as they say is history.

Haha funny isn’t it, the classic battle but eventually the old man and all my mates won out. I still probably get just as fired up over watching the magpies. My saints obsession is about the process which is why I can’t believe how long this club accepts nonsense. I will say this though in my lifetime collingwood has 1 more flag and I as on us when we lost to them so that’s the test of my metal.

There really is an infuriating dimension to the way the saints operate though that‘s just crazy imo. A mate on mine old school friend was on the board. He’s a very successful guy but seemed nothing more than an fan boy and helped make some terrible decisions in his time. I keep thinking eventually we‘ll get it right and have a patriots like run but no we’re still channeling the browns 🤯🥹

All I want is 1 :(, we don't ask for much down at Moorabbin

Some very interesting results so far, 49ers seriously cooked going all in on lance who was a stupid pick at that price and has shown zip. Patriots predictable result, tua not the man and won’t be there next year.

Same problem though, hurts. Made hard work of that, way too many inaccurate QB’s scampering around out of the pocket who are ordinary when asked to stand in the pocket and hit a target. You can add Lamar Jackson to that list as well, so overrated.

Bit nervy at the end there but we will be better for it. Needed to win the games we should win so I'm happy with the result. Hurts will probably hold us back from being a great team but perhaps we can carry him with the talent on the rest of the roster.

Vikings next week, another great opportunity to keep banking wins.

Vikings will be tough I think. Haha Brady looks right again, Carr you’re sticking with that xxxxxxx guy 🤣🤣. A win is a win though, keep banking them and move on to next week.
