I have no idea what we would do. If we got two first rounders, 7 and say 16, I would expect we will trade up to get Sheezel, keeping Pick 6. That is because we have spoken to Sheezel and his team a number of times.

I have moved on the subject many times but the additional 16 AND 7 gives us greater flexibility and I think we will exploit it.

All that said, if it was not for the commitment to Sheezel, personally I would not make the trade and keep three first rounders and garner wider talent that I think we need.

Knowing this strategy was in play, I was scratching my head as to why we weren’t being more overtly aggressive. Anyway, it now appears we are. It is most reassuring. We are at least in the game……may not win Bowes over, but at least we are having a go…..we certainly have the money to satisfy both Bowes and GC.

Any way, let’s get to that problem. It will be nice to have.

Tops seeing as 16 is a high number or around that pick in the first round IF we got it would you take it to the draft or trade it for a future 1st in next years draft and hopefully get a pick better then 16 in a lot stronger draft and have 2 first round picks.

Gee.... probably in the minority. But I would love Hird working with Sam... how motivated as a player would you be...

Sam, Hird, Harvey.

I feel after all we're learning this week, Hirdy could offer plenty. Serious football mind.
That's the tragedy about Hird (well not tragedy because it's his own doing).

He probably could have been a good coach as he does have an excellent footy brain.

But he tried to short cut his way to success and as such he will never get the chance to prove it one way or the other.

Need to offer overs to Bowes. Pay him full contract and another year on top. At least try and make the money too good to refuse - that is the main hope
One of the talking head today suggested that Geelong would look to put 5 years at 500 in front of him and spread things out a bit.

Suspect we would need to look at giving him another 2 years at say 550k (eg 4 years 2.8m)

Totally agree.

But as an assistant, gee, that's exciting with Sam.

Ha, well to be honest mate.... our club is the punchline right now, and probably for a good while.

I'm probably too all in Sam, so struggle with bias... but if Sam wants Hird... I'm chips all in.

I can see what he could offer.
