Disagree.

King could explode into a genuine match winning star.

In 2020/21 Steele kicked on average 0.6 goals a game (1/2 roughly). Fell away last season.

For the amount of time Marshall played forward in the last 3 years. He only kicked 10+ once (2020). His stats across the board fell away from his 2019 peak.

If we can turn Windhager and Owens into legitimate midfielders at AFL Level + bring the top 3 points into account.

That’s some very good improvement.

Keep in mind we had the 15th best attack this season. 7th best defence.

A top 4 defence and a top 8 attack would have us in the top 6.

Our attack will dictate our improvement. Our level of defence will dictate the type of attacking chances we get.

Immediately - intercept transition is one that the eye test tells me that we need to improve one.
You watch everybody in the media whinge about Lyon if our attack ranking is less than our defence ranking and totally ignore your above point.

Garbage.

They had Nick, Kosi and Gehrig when they traded for Fergus Watts. Maybe they thought Watts would come good but my recollection is that we'd pretty much written him off.
Barry Brooks and Watts were both delisted at the end of 2007, and Gehrig retired.

We were then totally stuffed for tall forwards until we got Bruce and Membrey to support Roo.

IMO Roo's career would have been even better in a proper functioning forward line, and when he was injured we were stuffed. ( Though sometimes Milne held down the fort ).
I seem to recall Kosi wasn’t functioning at his best around the time Jack was coming through in the draft and it made sense to try and grab him then.

Kosi, as much as I love him, wasn’t the best in 09 or beyond. Perhaps even 08 onwards. I think we all recall those five games or so where he dominated full forward and hoped that would return.

Not sure but as Saint Christopher said, apparently the Noble report was a push from AFL house. Also rumours that Lethlean was sent to clean up our mess from them as well.

I doubt Lethers lasts this long as a AFL plant, seeing as there's been no real progress in his 4 years. If the AFL had pulled the trigger, he would have gone straight in as CEO.

Me either but I have him a good rung or two above Kane Cornes.
I have to grudgingly admit I don't mind listening to either. Despite their personal defects they do at least know about football.

Compare that to Purple who knows three fifths of **** all and just goes on his "feel". campaigner he is.

Kingy has had a renaissance since his Carlisle days, Kornes is right more than he is wrong, at least they speak their mind and generally own their errors.

George
Is there a board rule that prevents posters from changing their avatar ( Winmar2Lockett and Joffaboy ) ?
Or changing their avatar to be identical to another’s ( Winmar2Lockett and Joffaboy )?
Or changing their nick ( King_Steele ) ?
This is doing my head in.

Yours respectfully,
Old Man Shouting at Clouds.

PS: big shout out to gringo2011 who is either too boring, lazy or lackadaisical to bother!
Listen, gringo2011 is ahead of his time - except I’m really going to think it’s Lenny posting now. 🙄

Got that a*se about face, Gringo.
Lethers was sent to us for US to clean up HIS mess.

AFL house owed us.

I'd say we have gained a lot of good even talent but they are easy to get without giving up a lot of capital for. If Hill can be used by Lyon it might make it work out in our favour but that draft and trade period we made a lot happen but not sure it was the right timing and a misread on where we were at as a list. I think the trade with GWS was a good one but we probably would have been better to draft hard and now when the trees were growing some fruit, then start chasing some mature talent to help take the next step. It's all history now and we have just got to hope that Rosco is able to extract more from what we have while topping up from underneath.
It will be a real interesting watch over the next 2 seasons to see if our development of players increases and we get guys stepping up - the recruitment v development argument. We are setup with the best football department we may of ever of had now. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of Billings, Clark, Coff, Gresh, King, Higgins, Hill play their best footy next year or the year after.

Harves looks ecstatic to be reunited with Ross as an assistant.

Not that I give a shit, but we now have one of the oldest coaches in the AFL. Only Fagan and Hinkley are older I think, and not much at that.

Hope that the fire truly is still there for RTB, he definitely seems more like a housecat these days!

That's where I feel pretty confident too. Motivation is something Ross excels at, he seems to get really good buy in from most of his players. You can't control how others will improve but I think we've given ourselves a good chance at maximising what we have available under this new footy department.

I think players would be scared to give up like we did a few times in the second half of the season. They wouldn't be playing seniors with that kind of performance.

Snags is the one that really hurt us. His first part of the year was tracking to be elite and probably looked set to out perform King up front. The second half of the year he was pretty much lost. He looked devoid of confidence and unsure about having a shot. He needs to be built up and let go on instinct. If Ross gets him right I think we are a dangerous forward line. He could be Milne like.
One imagines that Higgins will be made to work on his defensive game too. Ratts mentioned it in a couple of pressers, but what Ratts said it pressers generally had no bearing on reality. Lyon not so.

Pretty sure. I've know of some. Sometimes it can skip a generation. I am guessing but have a feeling about this. I'll have to ask Dr Google.

EDIT - I was WRONG ! _ Damn it.
For a given pregnancy, the odds of conceiving fraternal twins are only determined by the mother's genetics, not the father's. Fraternal twins happen when two eggs are simultaneously fertilised instead of just one.

Identical twinning and family heredity
Since embryo splitting is a random spontaneous event that happens by chance, it doesn't run in families. Genes are not involved and there's no scientific evidence that being from a family with identical multiples has any impact on your odds of having twins.
I don't trust the science...the day that science predicts the weather accurately I'll listen.
Twin them up I say.

I could predict UK weather pretty accurately, dreary, grey with a good chance of rain pretty much covers it there.
