Ok, lets see how it plays out there as British Columbia have just legalised hard drugs in small quantities to be carried

As a person who works closely with addictions and the consequences of them in BC. this will have no impact on overdose deaths, addictions issues or crime. it doesn't address where the drugs come from, all it does is means that street users dont have their stuff taken and they're not charged with possession, but this has been the unofficial stance for years. Every one references portugal as an example where this has worked but what people dont realize is that portugal has a massive system to support users and they have reformed the criminal system Drug decriminalisation in Portugal: setting the record straight. | Transform Decriminalization only works if it is a part of a larger umbrella of policy, it cant be the central pillar. just to put the crisis in perspective in some parts of BC there were rates of 55 overdose deaths per 100,000, in australia that rate is 6.6 per 100,000 so 8X higher rate. If you want really change things look at what Switzerland does Switzerland fights heroin with heroin

Hope you had a stop watch on him .....like clockwork, every year

ACLs are the worst. Hopefully he has a quick recovery.

That acquisition isn't looking so good for Carlton. He's a decent player but a lot of money was spent on the idea he would improve their midfield. All they really got was an injury prone defender.

He is 28 and only played 136 games (ave 13.6 games per season). Bit injury prone both at GWS and now Carlton.

Carlton have lost Sam Walsh for the first part of 2023 season and now Zac Williams.

I’m guessing the reason the Melbourne Demons are getting $5m more than Hawthorn is possibly because of the Dees developing the Casey club (to the tune of $8m). The Demons are/were an inner city club, so I’m not sure about them moving to the sticks for more supporters? or pokie money? (I note the Crows have no intent, at this stage, to get a pokie licence at Thebarton). I also note my old neighbour on The Broadway, Glenelg South, Pete Maynard is on the board at Casey (even though his son plays at Collingwood).
I also guess that Hawthorn were looked after when they were ‘gifted’ Waverly Park (now known as Bunjil Bagora) as their training venue. I’ve seen the arrangements reported as a partnership between property developer Mirvac, the AFL and the Victorian state government. I think Hawthorn only paid for the fitout. As Mirvac have been a sponsor of the Hawks, I’m assuming they only pay a peppercorn lease.
Happy for anyone to correct my guesses and assumptions.

Collingwood signed a young South Australian ruckman today

Haven't heard his name mentioned before....

Wow just what Westies needed, lost Barnett and Steene, there goes another good rucking prospect.
For those who haven't seen Steene he came on in leaps and bounds towards the end of the year.
He is very talented player, needs to put on some muscle but I rated him highly as he got better with every game.
I was hoping we would have him for one more year before he got drafted.
He is a ruckman in the true sense, his tap work is good already and getting better and he began to take a few marks around the ground.
Good size, give him two years in the system and he'll be a fine player.

The trouble with spruiking West Adelaide players is we always finish down the ladder so how can they be any good.
This lad can play and has a huge upside. Good pick up at little cost.

Sounds like we should have looked at him

Will Verrall is who we should have looked at but unfortunately we didn't have the list spot at the time.
Yes we did, we chose to draft 2 midfielders.

As for not having list spots, correct. We mismanaged our list by signing players we couldn’t get rid of and having a heap out of contract this year with minimal draft picks.

Looks like Cameron’s hammy made the Pies nervous.
