Finally had a chance to view the footage on a big screen, definitely sporting the number 30 on the back in that clip.
Yeah, it’s his running gait too.

Not sure how the media team haven’t recognised that it’s not Ramma when it’s clearly a shorter person by the size comparison of all those around him.

Besides Frenchie, Ramsden is the young player on our list I'm most excited for
I am not sure where on that list he sits for me but it is exciting the list is growing! Plenty of exciting talents.

Not sure he is ready yet but i can not wait until he gets a go!

Wonder if he'll follow the Luke Jackson trajectory of coming in as a forward, and then slowly spending time in the ruck.

Agree. Needs to be fast tracked. Could be a future star we have here.
Probably depends on his strength. Underbodied talls get eaten alive by afl defenders. A year in vfl being the main man is probably just as good for him (particularly if Afl side is struggling) - helped Lewis a lot.

Given we've got time, he could probably develop at a natural pace.
If he does have 'future star' potential, then I'd hate to waste it by rushing him.

Not saying we deliberately hold him back, but there's no chance I'd risk him before he's ready.

The thing about Ramma that the coaches of touched on a couple of times now is that they think that with every game he improves.
It does make me wonder if they throw him in the deep end a lot earlier, knowing that he might just grasp it and go from there.

I've no problem with playing him early, just not in the mood to rush him at his detriment

We didn’t rush Buddy and Roughy I think if we think he has talent and gets better every game.

I think he should play in the senior side and let him develop there if we think he will play forward.

Ummmm

Roughy debuted at 18yrs and 77 days

Buddy debuted at 18yrs and 56 days

So yeah, we didn’t hold them back

Steady improvement is actually an elite trait to have .

I was in the play him in the ressies for the year camp but think we will see him before the bye now

So long as he gets a start on merit & not because he "might be good in 4 years" etc.

There's plenty to be gained by early exposure to the top level, but there's also a bunch of risk. So long as we're selecting someone for the right reason(s), with strategic objectives, I've no problem.

My issue is with the "pump games into them" / "fast track them (based on potential)" before they're ready mindset

Max Ramsden (11 disposals, 2 marks, 8 hit-outs)

"Maxy had another solid performance, although the numbers don't speak the same as his last practice game. He was able to get out and use his run, and like Lynchy was able to challenge the opposition ruck going forward. He had some really solid centre bounce work which is great to see. He'll continue to grow in that area which is really exciting."

Quieter performance this week but does not dull my expectations of him by any length. Super exciting talent playing in a desperate position of need. Fingers crossed as his development is crucial to our future successes. No pressure kid!

No rush waiting for Lewis & Ramden play together

I remember when this place was going nuts for Jeka, even posters suggesting he had Carey vibes lol

I hope he makes it, but like Jeka as a forward, it's a lot to ask for for a MSD or end of draft key position forward to make it.

We did exceptionally well with Lewis, but can't keep expecting lightning to strike late. We'll need to land a high draft pick key forward in the next two years.
