I've accepted the Pies are comfortably the best team in it and will romp the flag in unless they can't sustain the intensity.

This is good because it allows me to barrack for them against teams like the Lions.
It gives me hope that a change in coach can completely change a team's fortunes.

They gave away Treloar etc for nothing and were laughably shit. Boom, coach change, next year they're top 4 and have continued on.

Definitely. I think you have to get lucky with the new coach and you really need a mature list (they are) but you can absorb a stupid amount of dreadful list decisions and still be great with the right gameplan that suits your players.

Bit of help from the umps but Brissy have played Collingwood pretty well this quarter.

Smart entries. Not letting them rebound.

You don't have to be when you're an MCG tenant. You just have to be better than the other MCG tenants and equal to the non-MCG tenants. They are those things, at least at the moment.
Stay off the kool-aid. Being the MCG tenant didn't help them in 2018 or 2011.

Pies are hardly the superteam everyone here is claiming.
I don't think they're a superteam, I tipped Brissy, I just think it's fascinating the psychology of how McRae gets them to play without any fear

This thread is funny as, so much sucking up to McRae only for the pies to concede six to none. Shows you how quickly things can change.

Yeah it's just one quarter, but **** this thread sums up the absolute ridiculousness of the last few weeks and supporters inability to roll with the to and fro of AFL footy.

What are you all going to be saying if the pies fall off like Carlton last year? Will McRae still be the messiah?

So many loving the overreaction.

This is exactly why you shouldn’t lose hope my friend that we have a rubbish draft hand this year.
The best side in the league is lining up with a forward line as follows having finished 17th in 2021:

Mihocek - rookie draft 2018
Ash Johnson - mid season rookie draft 2022
Mcstay - free agent 2022
Bobby hill - 3rd round pick in a trade in 2022
Hoskin Elliott - future second round pick
Jamie Elliott - pick 25 in 2011 draft via a trade with GWS
Reef mcinnes - pick 23 in 2020 draft
Beau Mccreery - pick 44 in 2020 draft as a mature ager
