caro isnt about equity or safety for women, caro is about caro remaining desperately attempting to remain relevent.

Courage is when you head full tilt into something despite knowing the risks, and the dire consequences of those risks. JHFF has admitted he doesn't understand why other teams are booing him so he had no idea about the consequences of his decision. He has also admitted his decision would but him in a safer, less risky situation. JHFF has also admitted that he made mistakes at North and that he hasn't taken too well about being told he's not the best player. The interview confirmed this is what caused friction at North. So instead of addressing the friction head on, he chose to run and hide.

There was absolutely nothing courageous about his decision. It was the most gutless one he could have made.

Exactly. Or to put it in context of this weekend, courage is storming the beachhead landing at Gallipoli, knowing that the Turks were raining bullets down upon you from above. Courage is not complaining about the bullets that you had to know were inevitably coming your way. Or running away from the battle.

But courage can be other things too. Like Wayne Schwass opening up about his battles with depression that saw him experience suicidal thoughts even at the height of his football success. By his example, many men have sought help over their own mental health demons, which has no doubt saved many lives. Likewise, Sonja Hood could easily have dealt with her breast cancer privately, but her decision to be open about it was courageous and will hopefully encourage other women to maintain regular screening, once again, saving lives.

Now if Jason Francis was going through some sort of mental or physical health crisis last year, and the best course of action to overcome that diagnosis prescribed by a fully qualified medical professional was to return home to his family, then doing so is not courageous in and of itself. Just like Sonja getting treatment and surgery was not courageous, and Schwatta getting treatment and possibly medication was not courageous, it was simply the best course of action to overcome their respective diagnoses. The courageous part is opening up about a very personal experience so that others may benefit. Jason, if indeed he was going through a serious mental or physical health breakdown, has chosen not to share that so there can be no suggestion of courage here. It's not cowardly to keep that experience private, but it's not courage either.

That article made out like he was conscripted to the army.

AFL football especially in the spotlight isn't an easy gig. The courageous decision would have been to pull the pin and retire if you don't think you're up being an AFL footballer. No one is forcing him to play footy (maybe his stepdad). Former one pick has done it - and there was no shame in that.

Personally, he would have been a distraction that we didn't need and for him and us, glad he's gone and we've got Sheez and Ward. I'm happy to move on.

Sonja doesn't need to pump Jason's tyres. Just a simple "best for both parties that we parted ways, and we don't condone booing" would have sufficed.

I was initially dirty Port didn't pay big for JHFF, but as the weeks have gone on - it's increasingly likely Kenny is there for a while longer. That's brutal IMO.

And bravo to Chadworth for pumping him up and keeping him there too. The ultimate anti-hero.
Yep. No need to take it any further. We've moved on.

The club has watchfully navigated this awkward situation by respecting the teenaged Horne-Francis’ strong reliance upon his stepfather, along with Francis’ club history. To date, they have welcomed him back to Alberton. Francis stood alongside a plethora of equally shattered parents and players and staff after the round-three Showdown loss.

Very weak by Caro call this out as pathetic by Port
Lucky for Fabian that he has no history with rubber chickens.

COURAGEOUS.....

This "courageous" narrative they are clearly trying to push sounds like a dodgy politician repeatedly trotting out a line of spin over and over in the hope it will stick and become the accepted version of events.

The fact both the coach and the player have used it in the last week, to me suggests one of two things, either;

-It is a planned media strategy to repeat it over and over, which is quite sad and desperate, no one outside of the club, its supporters and perhaps a few sycophantic media parrots are going to buy it.

or

-It is genuinely being portrayed as courageous within the club, which is a whole lot worse...

I don't think they're allowed to. I think they have to use the C7 audio for the games that they cover. Which sucks because the C7 commentators are garbage, except maybe Bennett

Yeh but I thought that was changing under the new rights deal?

Tonight’s Ch7 team is insufferable

SOOOOOO....... how long have Foxfooty been playing the replays at 1.5 x speed? I've just tuned in and the replay is at an obvious wind up in general play...

There is a way to avoid the C7 knobs if you're streaming the game;
get a radio stream going, but because it's a few seconds behind the video stream, just pull the video stream back by a few seconds until the video and radio streams are in sync.

I do it every week and haven't looked back, CH7 is insufferable.

I literally did that last week 🤣👍

Eight-time All-Australian Nathan Buckley said North’s list “was always going to be an issue” in the short-term, but stressed the club has a long-term focus.

“They lost to West Coast and Fremantle in the first couple of rounds and neither of those sides are going to be a force,” Buckley told SEN Breakfast.

Here I was thinking we won…..

So apparently Ben Mackay move to CarLOLton. Heaps of picks in the top 10 . Hope Poort dive .
