Agree - they make it sound like the kick in is irrelevant- a team can get a massive advantage from kick ins, it’s a stat we see the media bang on about as well

Also, the footy community must be a bunch of dumb Fuchs if they think Daicos BoG are based from possessions from kick ins?

I think we’ve got more than enough developing inside mids with Macrae, Carmichael and Allen. I’m happy for Nick Daicos to develop his contested game, but he doesn’t need to hit the coal face. His outside run is more important.

True enough when you run quite literally all game and furthermore switch with 2 or 3 players regularly it's virtually impossible to be tagged.

Just shows how sharp Fly is in crafting a role for a supremely talented, unbelievably fit but still slight 19 year old that makes full use of his prodigy talents but at the same time protects his still developing frame.

The fact is that teams have midfield structures, and limitations on people at centre square ball ups / 6.6.6 rules, interchange etc, so putting a close tag on him messes with your midfield and backline structures, as soon as he flips with other players and rotates himself through mid, HBF and wing type roles, in a matter of seconds.

Fly and Leppa have devised this I reckon, and it has been v effective. Because as coaches themselves, they know how important structures are to the opposing coach. Lyon and Cornes don’t seem to get this, and think it’s still 2005

Well Gazza was a great player but he knows nothing about structure and optimizing talent, as for Cornes - I wouldn't even PSS on him if he was on fire - a genuine knuckle dragging crow.

Spot on. We are blessed to watch, playing for out team, one of the greatest players that will ever play the game. At times I think both the general public, pies fans and AFL commentators dont give Nick the respect he is due - GAJ had the same problem. To back up and go beyond their parent is incredible. Nick is amazing. The thing that stands out to me is he does exactly what every junior player is taught to do, like handball and receive. He just does it better, he runs so hard and he kicks so well.
