Out of the 3 smalls ( Elliot Ginni and hill) Elliot is the safest because even when he isn’t impacting the scoreboard he is still impacting the contest with score involvements and tackles. If Ginni isn’t kicking goals he is a liability big time. Hill has been serviceable although quite last 2 weeks.

Out: 6 wins
In: 7 Wins.
Ginni had more score involvements than anyone that played on the weekend. So clearly that's not true. He'll get on the scoreboard a lot more when we have talls bringing the ball to ground.

Ginni a liability? How?

He offers very little in way of score involvements and tackles compared to hill and Elliot. I’ve seen a few people calling for Elliot to be dropped but somehow Ginni is not looked at. When a few tall targets return I don’t think playing all 3 is viable and imo Ginni makes way based purely on output.

He passed the ball quite well against the Crows at times,he did do some nice things in the last qtr and we need a bit of speed.

Yep, if nothing else he might be handy Gary Rohan insurance come finals.

(max speed records since 2017. They could at least update Oleg's jumper.)

This says different. Third game back, he is doing fine.

he had equal most for Collingwood. But several crows had more, it’s not just about score involvements either. He laid 1 tackle where as Elliot had 6 and 3 score involvements (hill 0 tackles). In my opinion atm Elliot and Hill Both ahead of Ginni, if one needs to drop out. Of course things can change.

But that's simply not true. He had 6 score involvements on Sunday. We're currently playing a very undersized forward line, due to injuries & relying basically on Checkers to bring the ball to ground. As it turned out, Checkers was the one to score 3 in a very low scoring game. Ginni's role is slightly different this year, he's been asked to chase more, apply pressure, tackle .. and he is. Did you miss his game on Anzac Day? Why would/should any of our small forwards be dropped? For whom?

Its his third game back, he's not going anywhere. He'll keep improving. You can't buy his footy IQ. He gets involved a lot more than you think. He's doing what the coaches want of him when its been tough for the smalls to get on the scoreboard.

I think you missed his game on Anzac Day because he didn’t lay a tackle, Elliot also didn’t lay a tackle but had more pressure acts and score involvements than Ginni.
If anyone in this forum honestly suggests Ginni is ahead of Elliot and Hill than they’re seriously taking the piss. I feel once we get some talls back it’s not viable to have all 3 and at this stage I’d say it’s Ginni, but of course things can change.

Kelly out regardless, not AFL standard.
Filled a space an played within his limitations.
Exactly was what was required in a side so depleted.
Hats off to him he made no screaming errors and cost not a single point.

Ginnivan's quick play on (his natural game) to Ash johnson swung the game.
I thought Hill was indecisive at least 4 times in the game which cost shots on goal.
He hand passed to Mihocek in a bad possie under pressure when he should have run straight at goal and slotted it.
That's not a knock on Hill either.
It was that sort of game.

Ginnivan may play ruck yet the luck we are having, so don't going writing anyone off right now.

I didn't miss his game 😆 I was at the game. And watched the replay a few times. I never specifically said anything about a tackle on Anzac Day. He chased, pressured all day & kicked 2 goals, which quite easily could have been 4. He's only 3 games in. I'm not asking for any of our small forwards to be dropped. I think talk of dropping Billy is equally ludicrous. There's no reason why the 3 shouldn't be playing each week.

His kick up forward that resulted in Noble's goal too. He's still clearly working on his complete game, but at 20yrs old, he has flashes of brilliant. Has stuff you can't teach, which is why he is playing.
The rest of it, leave that to the coaches.

Elliott is also Fly’s favourite player. That will get him some extra credit for selection for a while.

I think a wider issue might come to play later in the season in relation to our small/medium forwards & midfielders who rest/play forward.

Forwards:
Elliot, Hill, Ginni, Beau & Lippa

Midfielders:
JDG, Titch, Adams

WHE & Jaicos play more wing.

I don’t think we can play all 10 of the above mentioned players in the same team.

Performances are really going to matter.

Not a bad problem to have. Also allows to rest anyone not 100%

It’d be controversial if it happened. Because it most definitely won’t, the suggestion is ridiculous.

Clearly it is controversial given the amount of discussion it’s caused.

Your opinion is that my opinion is ridiculous. Others agree with you, a few don’t. Ergo, my opinion is controversial.

A “He offers very little in terms of score involvements”

B “He had the most for Collingwood!?!”

A “It’s not just about score involvements…”

We are in a great position in terms of win/loss, without even considering injury problems. The plus of the injuries is the ability to get games in to a range of players. Some of them won't make it far beyond this year, some are the future. Players of the future, for mine, include Hill, Ginni, IQ and I wouldn't be dropping them in a hurry. Over the last month we have been beaten once and lost the majority of the match bar last quarter twice. Not surprisingly it is easy to consider we have a number of average or even poor players. Reality is we have significant structural issues, we are holding on for a lot of the games, players don't have the space or opportunity to show their wares.
