Caleb's an idiot, but this is a broken clock is right twice a day situation. Unless we start using prisoners to do roads, someone is paying for them. Better those using them paying the fees, then everyone. In the time I've been back from living in Melbourne (start of 2008), of Adelaide's 1950's hang-ups, we've at least got a central city stadium again. We still are yet to get decent shopping hours, roads that move faster (considering the lower population to the Eastern states) or anything ****ing built at the Le Cornu's site in North Adelaide.

A caller on the ABC yesterday suggested a tyre tax to replace the fuel excise when electric vehicles become the dominant type. Would jack the price of tyres up a fair way, but we'd (theoretically) be paying the same amount as the fuel excise, so it's worth consideration I suppose.

Personally I have this noble concept of rebalancing government spending and taking away a ****tonne from garbage that is doing nothing, and moving the funds to things like roads.

They dont need more ****ing money, they have mountains. What they need is to stop spending on useless shit and cut back on the horrendously useless workforce that gets fatter and fatter by the minute.
