I do not see how Curtain is a top 10 pick at all. He is being completely overrated pick wise due to him being the most highly related WA guy. I see like a Hurn replacement. A really good Back Flank 3rd option with some midfield potential. 15 to 25. Shannon Hurn went at 13. Nat Fyfe Fwd Pocket come Brownlow Medal Winning Midfielder pick 20, Patrick Cripps Slow Well Built Midfielder come Brownlow Medal Winner Pick 13.

I honestly see Collard as a better player likened to Charlie Cameron who went at Pick 7 or Peter Matera. That kid will go Pick 20 to 40. This fella is the closest thing to a Goal kicking Wingman since Roo. Most articles say hes the best in WA.

My preference is Harley Reid Pick 1 & Lance Collard at the next pick we have.
I'm resigned to getting Pick 1 and not being amongst Picks 2 to 7. We wont trade away Reid, but we will try get other picks in other ways.

Guys look at this these 9 guys
Chesser Yeo Collard
Hewett, Kelly, Reid
Ginbey, Culley, Burgiel,
Pretty sure Charlie Cameron was a rookie pick?

From the Simmo staying announcement...

“We will again go to the draft where we currently hold the first selection and we will look to bring in some elite youngsters with that and other selections."

Sounds like we intend to use pick 1
Unless its Vic media reading it😏

You speak for the entire board?

I don't want to post videos where they're not wanted... but the GCS pick is available and you might make a play for that, or you could get a godfather offer for pick 1. Who knows?

On behalf of the entire board:

Your videos are a welcome contribution so feel free to post them as often as you like

When you dissect the draft I think our hands are completely tied and Harley Reid is near certain to be picked up by us.

Kangas want pick 2&3 for a reason. They beat GC to obtain it. They could of easily lost and taken Reid if that was the case. They want Curtin and McKercher and I don't think it will negotiable at all. They have no interest in Reid at pick 1. Leaves Hawks taking Duursma at pick 4.
The bottom half of the top 10 are all completely locked with Academy and Sanders and the other two in Caddy and Watson are huge flight risk. When you look at it like this right in front of us we pretty much can't split.
Only way we split is to obtain Curtin and McKercher but that won't happen.

Reid will be drafted by us. Who ever say otherwise I'd like to know how looking at this below.

It’s no longer 3 cat Bs.

Can only have 2 now
Can you upgrade bat B to the regular rookie list ?

I think dewar is closer than Baker but I think Baker has shown some really good signs especially towards the end of the season . He just isn't physically advanced enough to be considered for elevation

So now Simmo has clear air he can proceed with the exit interviews and the delistings will be announced by the end of this week right?

Or is that wishful thinking that the club will be that proactive in culling the deadwood?

Highly doubtful they do it before the B&F.

In terms of currency for a hypothetical Pick 1 godfather offer, Melbourne may actually be the best placed at the moment.

They could offer some combination of 5, 15, 24, F1, F2, Van rooyen, Rivers.

Not sure what of that they would actually be willing to offer but lets say they went completely nuts and offered:
5, 15, Melb F1, Van Rooyen, Rivers

for

1, 38, WCE F2.

I don't think any of you would knock that back. Them and North could get it done if they really really wanted to.

There's always someone here who would knock it back.

IMO neither will be retained.
Slipped through undrafted for a reason and have shown nothing to suggest they are AFL grade.

We picked them up as Cat B rookies largely as feel good stories. "If you're an NGA your chances of getting on an AFL list are improved. Check your junk folders plz".

Was almost certain we'd take him.
Instead we took Will Maginness at pick 5 ahead of him who was taken at pick 7.
What a massive f**k up that hardly anybody remembers.
Maginness wasn't as weird a pick as Ryan Burrows but Cameron was the obvious choice having slipped past the ND.

With the talk of Hawks being into Henry I wonder if the hawks try to do a Henry for Brockman and steak knives.
Tell him he has a chance to go home if he wants to go to Freo.

If they do, I’d be urging him to go to the psd.

This looks like a reasonable swap unless Henry has heard about Mitchell’s Gatorade sprays ..

Melb could get some good currency if Oliver leaves ..

We're not accepting a deal with Melbourne for 5 & 15 + Change.

I can only see it working if its 4 & 5 + Change, and on the proviso Norf does have pick compensation pick for Mckay.

Melbourne - Reid
Norf - Curtin or Mckercher
Hawks - Duursma
Eagles - Mckercher / Mckercher & Watson for argument's sake

Or we keep 1 and pick Reid.

I'd love to know the order of where the club rates the players, because I am still not sold that Curtin is the 2nd best kid. And every draft watcher ITK has him at 3 to 6 range. We need the best available, not best kid from WA.
