Are you saying we have our outside mids of the future on our list already?

Ne I am saying with really good all round mids you can make average players look really good players on the outside. We need to recruit the full book of mids, we have a couple but that’s about it.

The Vic footy show made a good point about North. They have been the worst team for the last 3 years and 2nd worst this year but don't have the best player in the draft on their list for any of them. JHF left and Daicos was F/S anyway, JUH was father son to the Dogs, Ashcroft was father son to the Lions and now this year they miss out on Reid unless they cough up a bit.
Sheezel and wardlaw were better and higher rated than cadman .

Gws picked cadman because he was the only one willing to move interstate.

Norf 100% got who they wanted .

I cannot express the joy I’ll derive watching and listening to the vic media if we take Reid. Let North take Curtain, develop him for a couple of years and he can come home as a 20 year old to replace Gov. Don’t hear the media laying eggs about that.
When Gov retires after 2025 season sam Taylor is Out of contract and a free agent

If this draft bottoms out quickly and our picks in the 30s are getting pushed back are there first year players in the state leagues with performances that suggest greater upside than what's on offer? Kobe Ryan would be the obvious one, Jack Avery? Sam Gilbey?

With the limited currency we have I'm less and less keen on using that currency to get Devon Roberston. A slower inside mid, is he going to be ahead of say Reid, Ginbey, Culley?

Would like one or both of Brockman and Collard to top up our small forward stocks post Ryan and would like to get Senge as a rookie if we could.

Not sure who I like at that pick 19.
Kobe Ryan, Boyd Woodcock, Kai Owens, Aidan Clarke all would be on my list.

Norf look to be going hard for that pick 4 of the Gold coasts .

Their pick 15 (tied to port) will most likely be eaten up if they get NGA access to sanders .

We may not get pick 4 but if norf trade for pick 4 we could then trade with GC for that pick 15 .

Future 2nd , a few late picks that we could probably stock pile with some savvy trades and not bidding for Walter could get our foot in the door .

Pick 15 = Harry demattia Harley reids best mate and another Vic country boy.

Tough as nails inside mid who runs a 2.94sec 20m sprint .

Add that to Noah long grew up 30mins from Reid and have played footy together all their lives

You’re the one who said most articles had him as the best in the state.

Apart from one article quoting his own talent manager, who else has said that?

If it’s no one and you pulled that claim out of your arse, just say so.
And you can just let it go

Collard would legitimately add an exciting bit of flair to our plodding midfield.

Particularly when he'd potentially offset Harley, Hewitt, Ginbey, Culley etc etc.

However :

1. He's not ranked in RookieMe's top 30 prospects, he doesn't even get mentioned in the list of "stiff to miss out" candidates.

2. He's not ranked in any of Twomey's power rankings either.

3. Pretty sure it was reported that he highlighted his preference to stay in WA in interviews or something recently didn't he? Or failed to convince recruiters?

So basically, whilst he'd be a nice acquisition, surely you just run the risk of him lasting till pick 40 and match?

Apart from his dad on BigFooty nothing really suggests we should be burning our pick 19 on him. At a stretch you'd look at our pick 35 or 38 if you were scared.

Ditto Livingston.

From his highlights video collard looks about 60kgs .

Dewar looks an exciting player but he can't even compete physically at wafl level and he looks like a bull compared to collard

AFL weight would be around is probably 80 kg. The thing is you start adding weight and the agility & pace disappear.
Collard measured at 185 & 68 at the start of the year, so that's pretty tall and why he looks skinny. I can see a few extra cm/kg being added by now too.

Ditto Livingston.

I was keen on Livingston earlier this year when he grew and was playing well in the Colts for Perth.
I though his Championships were pretty ordinary, did ok but I was expecting more from him.

At the same time I had concerns about Jack Williams and his horrendous injury, with not knowing how he would come back after his recovery.

Fast forward: Jack Williams has come on well in the second half of the year and I can’t see Livingston offering anything better than what J Williams does.

I am not saying we don’t take Livingston, but he would be a very late speculative pick for me, I see more bust than boom with him at this stage.

Would take Collard before him.

Of course what we do with our two third round picks with the speculation of Robinson and Brockman may well play a part in the decision making of what and if we take our NGA kids.

Not going too early but our forward line is quite impressive with a few young guns in Allen and possibly Maric add in Darling that's quite a trio to contain .
Cripps and Brockman possibly.

Not too bad ..

Given he'll cost peanuts, if he's taken at all, we'd surely just take a swing and see how he comes on as a developing tall?

How many NGA's can you have at any one time on your list? How does that work?

Baker and Dewar should probably get extended, does that mean we can add 2 more or do we have to shift last year's onto the main/rookie list?

I like Jilliams, I'm glad he's been extended... But I feel like him suddenly "coming on" is being exaggerated a bit.

You need to do some serious word twisting for that to mean we are trading pick 1.

You don’t need to do any at all for it to mean we are keeping it.

Yet look at what they go for. I actually think we are dealing with some of the least intelligent people imaginable when it comes to sports journalism.

They have always been terrible, they are a mixture of callers employed for their character and jokes, ex-players who can't articulate their point and modern day 'journalists' who are really no better at their role than the majority of posters on this board (Dark Sharks excluded). There are a few exceptions who have earned their positions and do offer something insightful but they are few and far between. Unfortunately the average footy fan is thick as pig shit and willing to survive off sounds bites and headlines for their information and that's all that the above provide. It's sickening.

They wouldnt compare him as he is in the NGA.
You very rarely hear comparisons. This is the bonus of NGA. Ask Sydney Swans hiding 1st round picks in that program. My gut feeling this kid is another Mcleod. Collard's are very good footballing family related to Winmar's & Kicketts. This kid will be special. Just remind yourself Shai Bolton come out of Subiaco too. He will be a good egg.
Bolton is out of STH FREO

Can only have 2 Cat Bs

So either Baker and/or Dewar need to be shifted to the rookie list or Hine-Baston and/or Livingston need to be drafted as rookies

Collard will be on the main list either because we use a sub 40 pick on him or we match a post 40 bid

Won’t be surprised if Freo use a pick before 40 on him. Probably with the pick they get for Henry
