I know it's an existential question with no answer but;

Does it feel like we are getting some sort of payback for the horror of last year? Those last two games last year were unbearably heartbreaking.

But it feels a bit like that as a playing group and a supporter group we kind of said "well do your worst, we can take it and we'll come back from it.".

And is there a possibility that the final scene is some ridiculous steal against the pies to complete the circle?
Nah. Let's not conflate the two. That was that and this is this.

I know Max Gawn was clearly injured/NQR last night, but TDK again showed again past night why we rate him highly/over clubs made him big offers.

His 2nd half of the season has been career best/stirring stuff.

And he did work well Pitto as well (Vossy believes as i do that you can still play 2 ruckman in the one team)

Watched the game with my family last night, probably the first game we’ve had the whole family together watching a game since my father passed away - what a game to do it.

Cheering, screaming, crying, what a finish.

That passage of play is the best I’ve ever seen Carlton pull off in my life. Euphoric. I was one year old when we won the 95 granny and this finals series is just magical so far.

Blake Acres, Sam Walsh, Matt Cottrell, Sam Docherty, Ollie Hollands. Elite run wins games.

McGovern followed Fritsch down to deny them an extra. Clearly planned.

Acres just did what Acres does. Ran everyone into the ground.
Mitch mcGovern was on MMM and said just that.

Was listening to Derm & Kingy on Sen also this morning. They said that they had watched the behind the goal footage and Acres got heavily dumped just before hand and was struggling. Went to go to the bench but was told to to back up forward.

They'll show it on first crack I'd imagine.

Such clarity and leadership from Weiters in that moment - talk about a game of inches - that kick hitting Hollands, Hollands kick perfect to Doc, Melb player just failing to spoil, Acres timing his run at the ball, not to mention his kick at goal!

Would be amazing in slow motion.

I had the great pleasure of sitting with Bluegum for the game.
A quiet achiever is our Bluegum, coming out with some pointed strong clapping at moments that just happened to silence a particularly annoying Dees supporter across the aisle.
Also came out with a ripper...that timeless chestnut 'pigs arse!!'
Great fun on a night that must be one of Carlton's greatest games ever.

Thanks BG.💙

No thank you MBR. The seats and company were awesome.

That Melbourne supporter was annoying. Even the Carlton supporter next to you made sure to say cheerio to him after the game ended. Nothing could spoil the joy of the faithful though. Left a tear and exhausted MBR as I headed off to the train/s, singing the song with thousands. It really was like the 99 prelim.

Fingers crossed, see you in Brissy.

Great that we Blues supporters can now have confidence in our team to fight out matches to the end.

Not that long ago we wilted under the first signs of any pressure.

Shout out to Hollands in his first season, Motlop in his second, players playing injured (Docherty, Cripps, Acres), Walsh for his gut run, TDK for being a force, Pitto for his strength, Charlie presenting all game against May and Lever, Weitering playing boss and to players sticking to their respective roles.

Selection heartache to come in order to fit Harry and Martin in. That is a good problem to have!

Just want to point out the heroes of our last few minutes.

Docherty x 2 - probably the biggest hero. The handball to Mots to put life back into us, and the courage and poise to take the mark, run and kick the ball to a 2 on 1 in our favour was brilliant.

Cerra x 2 - after we hit the lead, he got to a contest and held the ball in, then when Rivers kicked the ball, he smothered, made the next contest, tapped the ball out of the Demons possession into the path of De Koning who smashed it forward. Vital seconds wasted.

Hollands - that burst to mow down Hunter was the must make passage of that last minute. Potential game saver. Also the presentation for Weitering and the perfect pass to Docherty that set up that winning goal.

Cottrell - swept up that spillage, got it to Fog and allowed us to clear it up forward.

Weitering - the skill and leadership to bite off that cross corridor kick to Hollands.

Acres - nearly gave me a heart attack playing on and squeezing that goal through, but the run to be down there in the first place and the judgement to take that mark with his bung arm and in pain was inspirational.

We couldn't have done it without any of our guys but so many stood up when it counted.

Oh he hates the Blues, loved kicking us to the kerb in the bad years too

He did but I must say I think Dwayne does just love a good footy story and the theatre this all brings.

I think he has come around to Carlton recently - he LOVVVESS Charlie.

He and Gerard are fantastic callers.

Tell me if this is weird.

At 3 quarter time a bird s*** on my pants my daughter who was with me said it is a sign of good luck.Ok let’s hope it comes true.We we’re in section M18.

My other mates daughter who were in section M27 had the same thing happen!

Now surely that’s no just coincidence.
