Isn't james jordon just a meh player?

Lots of love for Robertson who likely costs our third round pick (either this years or next) compared to Jordon who’s a FA

James Jordon struck me as a mostly outside player. Dev has upside if played in his natural position. We need the contested player.

Jamo 201/98. Not exactly small. Contracted for two more seasons. Given HEd hasn’t shown much and Bazzo looks like KPF#3, then maybe Jamo to KPD is worth a try.
There's size then there's appetite for the contest.

Haven't seen much of it thus far.

He’ll have a few clubs chasing him so we’d need to get in line but I do hope we at least have a crack

Get Hunt to tell him how good WA is
I still have NFI why Hunt decided of all places to come to WA but jeez I'm glad he did - a properly good point of difference, model pro and has a sweet haircut.
Could be handy in helping interstate recruits settle too. Harley Reid's mentor maybe

Chris Scott at his hypocritical best here. For a club that targets players at rival clubs as a cornerstone of their recruiting policy he’s getting all sooky la la because a fringe best 22 player wants out for better money and greater opportunity

Send him another bag to eat

The hypocrisy is laughable and infuriating, but it would be nice if our club at times acted more obnoxiously self interested like them.

Either way I hope they try playing him in defence next year, especially if we get Flynn. Will probably struggle to get a game as a pure ruck so if he can add defensive craft to his game he’ll be able to provide more and push his case to a greater extent

From memory they played him in the backline in the WAFL in 2021 and I remember hearing good things from Daniel Pratt (who was our WAFL coach at the time) as well as liking what I saw just from watching.

For whatever reason they stopped playing him there but I hope they give it another try next year
We actually played him down back in the AFL and he got taken to school

He got asked to play back because we had nobody. Was one of his first games and he hadn't even trained there.
Still could of at leased punched a footy or given a contest. Showed nothing any way we look at it in any position which is a shame because he moves pretty well for a big guy.

This says a few things to me

1. Confirms the club sees Bailey Williams as a forward/ruck long term (as Simpson has alluded to this year)

2. The coaches don’t have a lot of confidence in Jamieson‘s ability to improve and impact at AFL level next year

3. They think Harry Barnett is still a long way off (fairly obvious if you tracked how he went this year)
I agree with all three points. Jamieson is a bit average for a ruck which is the problem. He can't win a hitout. His a big unit and athletic. Wonder if it be better for Jamieson to become a key backman. We need a lock down key Backman. His got the height and athleticism. Worth a try to see if we can convert him. Have him as our lock down key back and use him as back up ruck is pretty handy. Versatile is what he needs to be.

It's a huge year for him in 2024. Needs to prove himself that his capable of taking over a position. Any position. Just take one over.

Honestly with the sub rule you don't really get an accurate read of those stats .

Both have probably been used as the sub multiple times

Saying that I feel Robbo is worth about the same as we paid for SPS who was a much higher draft pick and performed better over his journey at Carlton

Be nice if Jamieson starts dominating at WAFL level before we consider him anything. He's certainly not done that as a ruck or as a defender.

Long way from it. I think he's a bust personally, I've beaten that drum for a while, but the beauty is we've still got him for at least another whole year for the Beagles before they'd even consider cutting him loose. Break glass option until he suggests otherwise. Big year for him.

I miss the days where my WEST COAST eagles looked like this. Now we can't even draft from own NGA Talent. A major overhaul is needed on this draft system.

A bit hard when we're clearly a football state though. We've got no leg to stand on.

If we ask to match before 40 expect both VIC and SA to go Reeeeee and demand the same thing, what would be the actual difference?

A one off request whilst our club is a shambles and winning wooden spoons across 3 different teams though, absolutely.

Chris Scott is a complete hypocrite. He is all bravado when defending a playing staying at the Cattery but refuses to comment about a player the BODE are targeting

Jamo to the backline is the new Darling to the midfield.

He'd get absolutely monstered by even half decent AFL key forwards.
Most people would have said the same thing about Petch as a mid.

He'll go well as a KPD...Expect to see some bulk added next pre-season.

I put this up purely for discussion.

We're severely lacking an experiencer big bodied midfielder. We dont need a star, a B or even C grader in there to do the blocking/Sheparding/protect younger mids in ginbey and hewett and block for the likes of kelly.

Sheed has no capacity to do this and i doubt we will ever see yeo as a permanent mid again.

Should we look to recruit james harmes from melbourne for 2 years, for this purpose? Would probably only command 300k a season.
Deven Robertson is that big bodied midfielder. Playing in a in and under role and with his abilities on the defensive end, its exactly what we need. Club just need to make that one happen

THere is a lot of hope that he can flourish in his proper role. But it's a leap of faith at this stage given what hes actually shown at AFL level.

Flynn would actually be a very good pickup.

Not sure if many people have seen him play, used to watch him every week for SC purposes and he's decent. Not a world beater or A grader, but he has a crack and gets involved, as his stats show this.

Might be the same height as Bailey but a totally different player. Williams is an athletic beast with a big jump. Flynn is a crash bash lump of a lad.

It'd be a good 1-2 punch combo with Flynn wearing down the oppo ruck and tagging in a fresh Bailey.

To get him potentially for free other than salary is another Hunt style moneyball no brainer. Would instantly be the 2nd best ruck on our list if not the best.

I like it. Unlike our other 2 depth rucks I reckon he would absolutely chop for the Beagles as well.
