Fremantle forward Lachie Schultz has requested a trade to Collingwood. Hit a 12-month contract trigger mid-year but has informed the Dockers he wants to join the Pies.

Schultz is massively underrated. It does make life for Ginni hard though.

It's a head scratcher as the rhetoric is Hawthorn pushed out a 29 year old Brownlow medallist without any known baggage - in fact who appears to be an exemplary role model. They pushed a very good footballer with more to give and an enormous amount of IP to pass on to their young players. They supposedly only saved the cost of the average salary and got very little in trade return. I just don't understand it.

Mitchell is taking the 2006 Clarkson route. Play the kids, at the expense of more senior, and in the short term, better players. Mitchell just happened to be one of those short term guys who was pushed out in favour of the long term prospects.

We aren’t taking that route. We’re in win now mode and Adams is/was a part of that, hence we won’t dispose of him cheaply.

To be fair to MM the fact naughton signed for 8 years, I’d say his intel had some legs.

Sydney supposedly offered him a 10 year $11m contract. Not a joke.
