RESULTS UPDATED.Just let it be known I voted for Watts please.
Would have loved a Watts v Johnstone match up.Man I thought Davey vs Watts was a lot closer tbh. I loved Davey but Watts was so hated he ended up underated
Id give it to TJ I reckon he stepped up more often.Would have loved a Watts v Johnstone match up.
I think the results are underselling Watts, yeah, who I really liked. But I also think Davey had more impact overall.Man I thought Davey vs Watts was a lot closer tbh. I loved Davey but Watts was so hated he ended up underated
Davey got to play in a better team. I like Davey but Watts played his whole career in a dog shit team. He would have been remembered different if he played 2000-08 instead of 08-16I think the results are underselling Watts, yeah, who I really liked. But I also think Davey had more impact overall.
Watts in 16/17 was unreal, would bloody love him in our side now.Davey got to play in a better team. I like Davey but Watts played his whole career in a dog s**t team. He would have been remembered different if he played 2000-08 instead of 08-16
I definitely think he could have been tougher, but I don't reckon there's been another footballer in history who's had people focus on what he can't do more than what he can do that Watts. Majority of afl fans and even alot of Melbourne fans would say he sucked for his career. He was a good and very good player for alot of it. He was so poorly coached he never had a chance. Trac and Oliver can make millions a year, skill wise Watts put them both to shameWatts in 16/17 was unreal, would bloody love him in our side now.
Agree Watts' career is undersold for sure. Finished top five in the B&F maybe 2016? Slot Watts in now instead of 2009 and it's a completely, completely different ball-game. Might be the best kick I've ever seen for Melbourne. Certainly top few.Davey got to play in a better team. I like Davey but Watts played his whole career in a dog s**t team. Also, on Watts, could play key forward, could play midfield, could play half back. Very versatile. Even did well in the ruck when required, I recall.Agree Watts' career is undersold for sure. Watts put in more effort in this play than TJ for a whole career. If only.Id give it to TJ I reckon he stepped up more often.
Also made lovely shorts, was good at swimming, liked birds. Could do everything, a real "man for the people".Also, on Watts, could play key forward, could play midfield, could play half back. Very versatile. Even did well in the ruck when required, I recall.
What a blockbuster match-up to come up first round. Both scored 300+ points in the 426.Aaron Davey (2004-2013)
