No one is talking about the real draft tampering going on- trying to pretend this is an 18 year old and not a 32 year old brickies labourer they found playing for the 'Palm Beach Dugongs'. It's Logan Mcdonald all over again.

Our haul tonight was A+, I know we all had our favourites but seriously and potentially, our greatest Draft ever! While we won't know for several years, this, ladies and gentlemen has set us up to be a laughing stock no longer, be very excited!

I don't expect Goad or Dawson to play AFL in 2024. If either does and is effective then they are a prodigy.

We are giving Barlow something to work with. Two freakish specimens to develop into great players.

One of the better ones in the draft.

Excellent closing speed and leap allows him to punch from behind, but he also has good body positioning when in more of a wrestling match.

Haven’t watched much of him. He’s light so seemingly good scope for putting on size and strength

Not sure what the concerns are about... we've got players with upside in the later picks (that will address list holes) and gone for the best available for 2 and 3 (which will bolster our best performing positions).

How often have we lamented how badly we used the ball from our back half? Without Sheezel, we were ****ed. Goater is more of a winger/mid type, Bergman was injured and couldn't get continuity. So, we got Fisher and Hardeman to address that.

We lost McKay (our lack of KPD problem getting worse as a result) and upgraded him to Duursma. We then use one of the later picks on Dawson whom has shown to be athletic and a strong mark. Project player with huge upside. Not to mention we picked up two additional players (Biggie from Richmond and Pink from SANFL).

Goad (another player with athleticism for his size) replaces Goldy and places pressure on our current ruck stocks.

We've done really well. Especially since we've bolstered the player development structure. Players will be under more pressure now to perform. This can only be a good thing. We should be rapt.

My guess is they were discussing on whether to take Goad first and who Adelaide would take to leave at our next two.

Adelaide blew the chance to grab Goad by doing the Curtin trade. By swapping 11 and 15 for 8 and 17 they ended up one pick behind us instead of one pick in front.

This could be one of those pivotal draft moments we discuss years from now

We also probably didn’t rate Curtin as highly as we might have thought. Otherwise I feel we could well have trumped Adelaide’s offer by offering pick 15 (now 20) plus our F2 for pick 8. But we didn’t taking Dawson instead. Another one of the sliding doors moments
