It pains me to say but Geelong had a great draft

11 - O'Sullivan
32 - Mitch Edwards
36 - Mannagh
58 - Stevens

They had one decent pick at the start and walked away with 4 good players

My other half knows Stephen Wells very well and this is not a surprise, the man is one of the best recruiters there is and winding down his career, the Cats were always going to find a way to improve their Draft hand. O'sullivan, Edwards, Mannagh and Stevens was very very good with what picks they had. Along with Bulldogs and Saints nice draft hauls, Gold Coast with all there academy players is a no brainer and ours, lets just say, you can't take the smile off my face!

It was barely a misstep imo. Giants round 3 and * round 4 might be closer together than people expect.

In fact, do we have hand measurements for all our draftees!? Amazed it is not spoken about more in the media. Clearly a key attribute.

I think Collard has more growth in him, potential to be a Shai Bolton or Bobby Hill. A bit taller and looks like he's got the ability to stand on someone's head. Maybe not as consistent and more one-sided than Watson, but it'll be interesting to see who is better in 5 years. I don't watch school...

As posted earlier saints/gws did a deal during first round and might have had an agreement to do this deal.
Most of these deals are agreed before hand If player X is gone we’ll trade said pick

It does seem that way. I’m intrigued to know how they manage those situations where they just want to dump a pick. Is it just luck who they pick up the phone to? Is there no way to get that info to all clubs and auction it to the highest bidder?

Surely it’s simply a matter of setting up a WhatsApp group and sending a quick “Hey friends & Dodo, depending on who’s available we might not use our pick 48 and would be willing to trade it for future picks, so let me know if you’re interested. Hugs and kisses, Brady.” type message, and reaping the rewards. But perhaps there’s more to it.
