Something I haven't mentioned yet but that deserves a shout is that Drury has been in ripping shape every single time I've been down there, running laps noticeably faster than the others doing so (e.g. George, Zurhaar, Thomas, LMac, etc.). Certainly giving himself the best chance possible to make it long-term.

If you’ve seen match practice- has Drury been playing forward or back

Did someone mention an extra day off?!

Haha only joking guys! I'll be there waiting for Tommy Campbell to palm them down to me!

Quick question, what are the coaches talking about when they shout 6-6-6 during match sim? Is that Brett Ratten guy a Satanist?

Yep. I don’t live in Melbourne and if I’m lucky I get to Arden St a few times a year. But when I was there like 6 months ago, it was obvious his dedication was top tier.
I've been staying a stones throw from Arden St the past couple nights.
I was hoping to chill and watch a training session, but unfortunately my kids get antsy for adventures further afield well before the sessions officially start (10am is basically their afternoon).
Without being too weird and stalkery, that kid Drury really has work ethic in spades. First player on the field both mornings by some margin, working drills on an empty oval from 8.30. Seriously proactive. Would love it if he made it.
My only apprehension is that I’m not sure he has the pace to be a small forward or rebounding defender under Clarko. But I do hope he does, cause he’s a professional with great qualities.

Not many jokes landing with this account - perhaps pack it up sooner, rather than later.

At training, any questions?

I arrived at 9:15 with everyone already out on the track.

Thomas arrived at 9:20 in his civvies when everyone had been out on the track for a while. A physio(?) told him he had 10 minutes to be ready. Then later another physio said he was going in to work on him.

The conditioning group was running backwards and forwards: LMac, Drury, George, Combem, Archer and Fisher. Maybe tit’s true that Fisher arrived underdone.
They all looked ok, except LMac half-arsing it (or just my bias?) and Comben who seemed to be labouring. I didn’t notice anything strange about his gait, more a conditioning issue. He looks big.

George is still in the brace, but he’s taking marks one handed and can almost straighten the arm at a stretch.

Drury does not run any faster than the others, it’s just his little legs pumping. He is known as “Dragon"

Monkey had a session with the rucks with CCJ and Xerri kicking to Goad and Dawson practicing marking technique. He was emphasising to “jump off the inside leg”. CCJ is known as "Ceej".

There was a trainer setting up magnets on a board for match sim. I spied a little. There were home-made magnets for Sellers, De La Rue, Watkins and Downie but only Downie was on the field.

I didn’t notice anyone else missing but I haven’t been systematic about it. Just saw that skinner84 can't see LDU. I'll have my eye out. [update: Yep, not there]

Someone is here with a decent camera taking shots. Is that one of you?

And Sarah Wright was walking around and gave me a smile. Must have got me confused with tZ.

There is a bloke in one of the Facebook groups I’m in “Footy is Life. Nothing else matters” called Glynn Lavender. I reckon it would be him. Always posts tons of awesome photos from training. I don’t think he’s on Bigfooty.

Aren't most of those others injured or in rehab though? So you'd expect Drury to be in better shape?
