Thanks Mr Ripper you really are a Ripper
Yes Joe does live down there. Apparently he is the only footballer in Australia that lives in one state and plays his footy in a different State. Joe is a bit of a different cat, no TV for starters, he does like his privacy remember when he missed a game for the birth of his first child, many of the Lions players apparently didn't even know he had a girlfriend. My understanding is that his broader family are country people, Joe is following that line. I also heard when he came up here during covid he just decided to stay and someone else packed his stuff up in Melbourne and sent it up.I think he actually lives inland from there (and I thought Cleveland to Kingscliff was an annoyingly long drive!)
Agree, God’s own country down there.I love the guy, I holidayed down where he live every year for 20 odd years with my kids, it really is paradise that area, i can see why he would choose to escape there.
My understating is that he does still have a Unit up here in Brissy that he stays in during the week. Or at times anyway.Agree, God’s own country down there.
What a commute to training each day though. I hate a 20 minute commute, let alone an hour and a half (on a good run).

The Brisbane Lions quest for further Club success has received a double boost with Keidean Coleman and Ally Anderson both signing a three-year contract extension.www.lions.com.au
The one thing we can offer him that some of the others who might be wanting him can't is the genuine prospect of on field success and end going out as a Premiership player.Clug probably looking for a 5 year deal to finish him off and he’s in that category now as a player where he can ask for it.Our offer will be a million plus shy of what he could get from Vic and he gets to go home and avoid the Gabba upheaval and associated BS.Not confident we can offer enough to keep the rest of our good list together keeping in mind rapidly rising Ashcroft contracts. As hard as it is to swallow, something has to give.

As always, subject to late change without notice.
he is already one of the highest paid at the club and the existence of the salary floor makes it hard for other clubs with ostensibly worse lists to field an offer significantly better than the one we are likely to put in front of him if they do not want to jeopardise the rest of their list buildThe one thing we can offer him that some of the others who might be wanting him can't is the genuine prospect of on field success and end going out as a Premiership player.
But the reality is some clubs could be prepared to throw the kitchen sink at him. He's very good , versatile , durable ,fit and had few injuries , obviously respected on a personal level, coming into his best years.
