Definitely agree there - on this occasion I failed to remove surplus words - my humble apologies - chuck the damn thing's in with a tomato based sauce and serve with pasta of your choice

I do that although they're also great with a curry sauce.
My favourite is home made chilli sauce. Soy, fish sauce, garlic and chilli, thai holy basil.

Wasted on me. Find their taste bland but somewhat unpleasant, despite the old days removing them from piers before safety became the most commonly used word in our vocabulary and everything free became subject to regulations and rules..

I grew up Bayside - used to wonder why anyone would prise them off the pier - the jars of mussels in fish and chip shops looked particularly disgusting.

I'm converted - fresh (less than $10 / kilo in Portarlington) with Sicilian sauce and crusty bread is most excellent - low fat, good minerals etc
