I'm smelling a 45 goal year from Josh Schache....because yeah...we don't have anyone else.

1.95 goals a game isn't asking too much from the former pick 2, right?

Genuinely never felt more underwhelmed coming into footy season then I have this year even though I know we'll play finals in September.

Even this time last year I was excited with the Grundy and Hunter inclusion and the organic growth within the team.

We failed to address our lack of forward and ruck depth and that in itself reeks of arrogance from both the list management and coaching staff.

Our injury list is growing very similar to 2019, Brown and McDonald are going to spend another year more on the sidelines then on field chewing up valuable salary and list spot.

There should have been hard conversations between the club and Ben Brown especially regarding retirement as his body is absolutely chronically cooked. Come up with a settlement or pay his last years contract out to him and move on.

Still the uncertainty around Clayton Oliver and even Harry Petty with his injury.

One forced coaching change on a coaching staff that hasn't changed since 2020. It's the same boring and bland voices that the players have to listen to for another year. Anyone that has played footy would know that you can get pretty stale when you're listening to the same blokes for a number of years. There should have been a whole coaching restructure at the end of 2023.

Only thing I'm looking forward to this is watching some of the kids strut their stuff such as Howes, Windsor, Tholstrup and hopefully even Kynan Brown. That's about where it stops.

I agree with everything that you said.

I feel like Selwyn needs to be cut. Rightly or wrongly, he just can't get the team healthy. Brown and TMac needed to be delisted just to breath some freshness into the playing list. Seeing these 2 cripples roll around again for another pre-season is passion-sapping as a supporter.

And the social media crew seem to be unable to understand what the supporters want to see. They should be plastering the social media pages with Tholstrup, Windsor, Howes and Kynan Brown hype articles and footage. Read the room.

Seeing Petty at training knowing he is 95% chance of going to Adelaide makes me think that maybe we should've just off-loaded him for 2 first rounders when we had the chance.

Adelaide were never offering two firsts for Petty.

Don't get me started on our social media team, that should be a separate topic in itself. We are legit bottom for media content and communications. Go have a look at Collingwood and the Giants and some of their inner sectum stuff is high quality and fascinating.

Instead we're posting trash content like Taylor Swift lyrics and Daniel Turner walking around pegging players at a team photo shoot.

Our media department are made up by a bunch of 12 year olds who have this fascination with short 60 second tik tok content.

It's the little things on and off field that add up into a great culture and so far we completely suck with the off field stuff.

See for all the gags they that they put out, they also mix it with some serious footy related content such as below. Gives fana some really good insight into the inner sactum

Other fans aren't probably fussed but I love this sort of stuff especially around the draft which I follow pretty closely.

Collingwood posted this last week and i thought it was brilliant. Great insight into a kid starting his life out as a professional athlete.

They've been spooked after the pre-season doco a few years back got canned in the media. Plus they seem to have replaced Benny Gibson with the most incompetent people available. Really disappointing stuff, we are way off the pace. The Kozzie documentary was good last year, need more special stuff like that.

Yeah they're miles ahead of us. I'm making the giants my second team this year

I think even in our match sims the club has barely released any footage or any write ups. As a fan you basically have to go to bigfooty to find out what is happening down at the club. hopeless social media team. How about going into the weights room and watching Jefferson pump some 5kg bicep curls or something :)

I know you didn't mean it like that but I spat my coffee out reading this 😂😂

It's going to be hell.

Even if we perform well in the H&A season (Which I highly doubt we will) it'll mean **** all until we do it in September.

If we can't come of 2024 with a flag or a very deep run I hope we come out of it with a new coach.

if we make finals not a chance Goody is sacked imo. Would need a 2019 collapse and even then im not 100% sure. Im sure Pert will spin the stability line a million times hoping that will work.

I'm already on board.

Their finals series last year was such exciting and fast footy. I was more shattered for them losing against the Pies in the prelim then I was for Melbourne actually bowing out again Carlton.
100% me too. I was way more invested in watching them play. They even made hogan likeable again

Kingsley is who I dream of as a Dees coach. Perfect mix of modern attacking game plan while having an intimidation factor, guy is on some angry pills.
