Rubbish..
not sure if you have ever played football before but you can’t train or become “accustom” to a slippery ball!
Played plenty of senior football, and if you think that the Suns players wouldn’t be more acclimatized to the weather and ball handling in the conditions that they live in then you’re simply wrong.

Sounds like excuses already to me!
Call it excuses if you want, but putting your fingers in your ears and pretending like humid conditions won’t be an issue for a side that barely encounters them is pretty stupid.

excuses are just reasons for poor play. trying to understand why a team is underperforming doesn't mean you're "excusing" their poor performance. it doesn't make it any more acceptable and it's not like the coaches would look at our terrible work in Darwin and be like "nah, all good, it was slippery! doesn't count".

in fact, it is incredibly valuable to look at areas where we are underachieving and find ways to rectify them. saying we suck in humid conditions is an "excuse", but it's also an impetus for us to improve in this area, as premiership sides need to win in all sorts of conditions.

I listened to your song. Definitely ambient.

Go play a season or two in Cairns or even here in Noosa. You certainly can, particularly when we train over the summer when it's hot, humid, rainy and the ball is slippery. Not as pronounced in the middle of winter but these conditions are the norm for BNE and GC so they will have the advantage with their handling if the ball.

You probably should give daddy back his keyboard now.

Doesn’t matter what the humidity/weather is, there are two teams playing in it. So hopefully people don’t get on here and blame the “humidity” if we lose!
They handled the slippery conditions significantly better than us in that Darwin game a few years back. But that was off the charts, and never seen anything like it. Was like playing with a ball of soap.

Ok then direct me to a game where this has played out! Where the opposition handles the ball better than we do in dewie conditions, I’ll watch it and if your right I’ll come back and apologise to you.

What are you talking about? There players would have train for it and be “accustom” to the slippery conditions! Won’t have anything to do with the long studs! 🤪
Wait I'm confused here. Are you telling me that having longer studs won't assist in our players not slipping over as much? It has been a huge problem for us playing them up there for a while now and it has also been a problem in our 4 games this season too.

FWIW I'm not trying to embed any pre-game excuses at all and am just frigging sick of seeing our guys go to ground because they can't get something simple like get the correct boots sorted. I really hope the choice of boots isn't coming down to trying to look cool with the latest one on the market which we've all been silly enough to do as youngsters. Curiously asking who is the clubs boots sponsors atm if there is one? In this pic Ginni is wearing Concave which I had a pair of in my last years playing. They have a huge range that I really liked but more importantly you can get them with different length studs depending on the conditions. Amon has Nike's on in the second pic so I assume the players can wear what they want with ISC being our apparel sponsor.

Anyways the other thing that is a huge concern atm is our cleanliness with the handball. It seems our players for a while now struggle to connect on the simplest of handballs which with how fast Sam wants us to play puts the player on the receiving end under enormous pressure when the ball hits the deck. Surely I'm not the only one noticing this. I know we're a young team but these are skills that should be there already IMO and if we're to have any chance to win some games this season then we'll definitely need to clean that up.

The better and more marketable players have their own individual boot sponsors

I was agreeing with you 👍

We all know our record vs the GC is pretty poor playing up there. Here's GC's record playing against all teams at home from AFL Tables.

Other Melbourne-based teams seem to do fine up there - GC only have a winning record against Hawthorn, NM and Richmond (interestingly).

So yeah the humidity is hard but other Melbourne based teams find a way to win... for me it's more their run and gun style which we find really hard to counter.

No, you won’t because it doesn’t matter what anyone responds to you here you just keep putting your fingers in your ears, pretending like it’s not real, and doubling down.

The post above yours already outlines a game where we did not handle the conditions, but you shouldn’t even need someone to point it out.

Teams with better skills handle the poorer conditions better. It won't matter about the conditioning to play in an environment. It will just matter if you are any good or not.

The reason Bayern Munich turn the sprinklers on before every game to speed up the game and make the poorer skilled sides struggle.
