Low production. He was averaging 8 disposals, 3.5 marks and 1.5 goals in the WAFL reserves last year.

This year his numbers have jumped to approx. 10 disposals, 4.5 marks and 1.5 goals in the WAFL. Had a few quiet games, but also big bags where he's clunking everything.

Young key talls can take time. He's shown good improvement, and we've likely taken the punt thinking he can continue the same rate of improvement in our system.
Better numbers at a higher level - good trajectory.
Looking like another quality pick for us.

Based on that

++++ Controls the contest, looks clean with his ball handling, strong contested mark, and can kick well at range.

-- Looks a bit slow, completely one sided by hand and foot

? What's his running like? any elite tricks?
tbf he did do a couple kicks off the oppo in that highlights package which looked alright.

What’s your point??
Dear is in the seniors
Blank, Lewis and McCabe are all injured atm
Easy played 2 weeks ago
Reeves is back up ruck and Tucker is developing
My point is we are now becoming a very tall list. Don't get all worked up

Made me watch it for a third time. I did spot one left foot kick just before the 4 min mark. Apart from that and one handball, everything else including spoils were right sided.

Just something for him to work on. Plenty of other positives.

I agree with those saying he'd make a good KPD. Could end up competing with Phillips and Blanck to replace Frost in the next year or two.

I'd love to see how he goes in packs.
Is he any good leaping up at the ball in a contest?
Holding his ground one on one?
I think he shows enough in his highlights to be worth a spot.

someone said contested marking ....I didn't see it in his highlights package ????
That's because he takes contested marks so often, they aren't considered highlights.

Has full forward written all over him and a really good one! Allows Chol to roam around instead of jumping into packs and dear to play third tall. This all, off course, with no Lewis available. But having four kpf to pick from really helps Sam's hand going frwd.

Good pick. Shows some exciting potential, with attributes you'd expect an elite development team to really build on.

I hope it is an 18 month gig. Consistent BHH footy towards the end of the year with a good pre-season & he might well be pushing for AFL games in 2025 (FWD or DEF - will be interesting to watch this one).

Very pleased with this, didn't think he would last until our pick. Not sure where the reports of slow are coming from, he looks quite quick for a man his size.

I've wondered whether the club view him as a full back able to stand on the gorilla key forwards. All the same, a lot to work with here.
My mate text me tonight
He knows him & his family very well.
Says he’s a booming kick & good developing forward
Can play CHF/FF
