Jones hey, I hope he is the sub - it's a really strange choice when Garcia is available. I know we need to support Saints players but I'm not a fan of Jones. I like Seb, he's been a warrior but again, what can he do that Hugo cannot?

Agree but no real harm in giving Jones a chance to save his career. Hugo’s developing nicely whether at VFL or AFL level.

Battle doesn't have the agility.
Cordy wasn't brought in for that.
Shoey is so new it'd be a great way to burn confidence.
Wilkie is the gap stopper in that D50 to man Cameron.

Cameron played further up the ground last week and hasn’t been at his best, might not be our biggest concern. More worried about Daniher and Hipwood exposing our height, Wilkie

Garcia & Hastie can work on their craft in the VFL for now. Might see them again towards the end of the year I reckon. Jones will probably injure himself running up the race to warm up, so nothing to worry about there.

Of course he’s was dropped, and it’s ok to say that, but that was a pretty crass way of saying it, especially in light of his MH issues.

On a more positive note, it's nice to see Sharman being properly awarded for his recent good form. Hope he stays forward and does well.
Arie getting a game is also great to see. Well deserved.
I don't mind losing just as long as there are some signs of development amongst the younger group.

100% - Membery I hate to say is finished , time to give Sharman a good work out in his position and Arie has been outstanding in the 2s so great they are giving him a crack.

But development wise this means the kids not in the 22 will get good development time playing full games with Sandy who are playing well at present, rather than being spectators in Qld.

Disagree, this way Superboot comes in to be the player we give the ball to so that he uses his kicking, plus he can go for intercepts marks.

He would be wasted as a lock down tall defender, a role he has little experience in, does not yet have the body for and would probably go badly in.

Lets develop the kid, not give him a soul crushing mission.

If I was Lyon for the first few behind kick outs I would be getting Arie to launch as long and as far as he can .... past the center .... do it for the first 3 or 4 or 5 times

That will get Brions on the backfoot clearing space in their 50 as the majority of their players will advance back to the center line anticipating this gameplay especially if it works a few times in our favour .... after this Arie may go a bit shorter which will put the Brions in 2 minds on how to set up and where to go

That boot is not only a weapon but we can use it to get the game on our terms and make the Brions reactive

Well for a guy who "never recovered" and who played the week after Freo he sure stunk it up (not) the next game after he was dropped which was for Sandy.




And then seems to have had a pretty decent VFL Career ever since.

I think it is more that he is quite a decent player, but not good enough for AFL Level. Very good intercept marker, not so good defensively, and only a so so kick.

He was worth a crack, but did not make it, and there is no disgrace in that.

We could well get slaughtered but we are coming up against a team with 2 tall forwards and only having Battle and Wilkie really doesn't give us anyone to look after there other marking forwards like Rayner , Morris and Lohmann.

Cordy is by far our best option for attempting to control Daniher and Jones could well be in the team to play defense against the Cameron types - who knows , but Lyon will have his defensive plan and like most weeks it turns the game into a low scoring scrum.

I'm no fan of Cordy or Jones , but used as role players can do a job and the reason they have been brought back into the team - Jones may well be finished but we know he will not take a backwards step.

How is it that Brisbane can come up against 2 teams consecutively that have not had a rest via bye while they have had two.
Really Kane and Dillon are absolutely incompetent and should immediately be dismissed.
The FIXture is an absolute dogs breakfast and the bias towards these AFL booster clubs is bordering on corrupt.

Last year's Lions, this year they have been very poor. Less poor than us though.

midfield the key - Windhager tagged Neale before and totally beat him , our only worry is getting on top of Dunkley and there other mids.

We could well win if a few of our guys play to there best - guys like Henry , Owens , Butler , Higgins can all kick goals and they will need to be doing it this game with King and Sharman.

If we can kick a score around the 90 point mark we could easily win , but we have only been averaging around 70 so we will need more guys scoring and not points.
