I really didn't think the Suns had a response like that in them. Once Collingwood took back the lead I think most of us assumed the Suns would collapse to a demoralising loss. But Bodhi Uwland burst through a tackle and created one of those highlights that will be in montages for a while, to retake the lead. That is the biggest win for the Suns since 2014 and hopefully will lead to the outright best game ever to lead us to finals for the first time.

The midfeld gave Collingwood more than they could handle and King had to be double to keep him quiet. If Andrew had taken a couple of the marks that hit him in the hands it would have been a truly exceptional display across the ground. Given the comeback I think its clear the Suns had room to improve and will have lessons to learn in defensive responsibility around the contest and in the middle.

Now they simply have to back it up against North away next week and start truly pushing for the eight. We look like a finals team at home and we need to close that gap on the road. In the meantime though enjoy bragging rights over the Pies’ fans in your life.

We beat the defending premiers! Don't forget to appreciate it........

What was Dave Swallow’s injury please??

Beating the Pies when we are so badly outnumbered is as good as it gets and the crowd showed that tonight.

Don’t forget despite the hype of the travelling army most of them are hyped up once a year warriors that live here.

They are a disgrace.

I noticed a few comments about Ben Long being the Suns Goat.

I as you know label Holman as the Suns Goat but if Long continues to hammer players with his tackling and clutch plays he could in a year maybe take that mantle.

I agree. He’s gold. He’s my type of player. I love Holman and I am falling in love with Long.

Have a beautiful evening in the beautiful city.

Ahem

Attention please

Wooooo
Pumped

**** me what a win.
To not go to water when they took the lead in the 4th. This. This is a big win. In our history. The belief it will instill in the players. The belief that Dimma will have on where his players are at and where they fit in the puzzle.
And the belief in the supporters too.
We need to flog the absolutely shit out of North next week and then finally, 13 years after our first ever win, we need to beat Port again for only the second time, in front of a loud crowd.

BRM i appreciate you just doing your job as mod, but can you please clarify the no bagging the umpires? This is the internet, on a non afl-endorsed forum.. why the censorship? Thanks in advance
Umpiring has been abysmal across all games...and they should be criticised when deserving. Let's not go AFL woke. One loud Suns supporter was evicted for supporting too loud...and annoying some of the elderly easily offended. It was fun to hear someone really give it to Collingwood and rewarded by the cops escorting him out.

People aren’t honestly suggesting we get rid of Touk… Bloke had a pretty good game. All our mids did. The criticism for last week was fair enough, but you can’t seriously think he had a bad game tonight?

Anyway. Forward line looked good tall wise. Midfield balance was much better. Still a few things to work on (like defenders all flying and letting the ball out the back, or some of our small forwards not impacting enough consistently).

But it really was a game. Tense final quarter. Insane noise at the stadium. But what a win! Crowd went wild for Long and absolutely ape s*** for Ainsworth. Our hometown is a fortress and every team in the comp knows it.

Poetic justice that 10 years on we beat the Pies again. This time we don’t need a GAJ to achieve success, we have a team. Just gotta believe and get those away wins, starting next week.

I’m no mod, but as I understand it; you can question an umpire’s ability to do the job, but can’t use the cheat line.

Might have had that reminder once or twice myself

The phrases “cheating VFL Umpires” and “cheating NswRL Referees” is my GC Forums/Internet Trademark Brand.

This is going to be tricky.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t think we had the talent or determination to hault the Collingwood surge. I was at the Freo game last week and we just looked flat.

Told the wife when we were 30 points up that Collingwood will come back and can still win from there. Sure enough.

Big win. Away teams are going to start fearing the trip to the GC, becoming a fortress.

Just need to fix that space between our ears. No reason why can’t win away from home based on ability

Just remembered how often the big precious VFL team we played tonight so often win close games.
Their stats in close games are crazy.
Just adds to the beauty of the win.

Obviously we should never have put ourselves in the situation.

Nonetheless to be headed and take them down especially with Daicos getting everything his way (nudge nudge) in that last quarter was special.

If we had of lost it would’ve hurt so much.

We’d have been so upset and the Pies Fans would’ve been unbearable.

What a night

Please tell me you wished some of the pies fans a safe flight home on the way out 😉

Was pretty cray cray crossing Nerang Broady road
Cars in the traffic lineup honking scarves waving supporters jeering Collingwoodites
Tasty night all up

Good win
Definitely the better side overall over 4 quarters on the day. Don't think anyone can dispute that at all.
Just absolutely destroyed the pies midfield, and especially on the spread. Clearances were pretty even, but just got us on the outside and through transition.

I wasn't too disappointed, happy for the suns to play like this. Now just need to bring it on the road next week. Then finals are really in contention.

But from the start to finish, you just knew, this was not like 2023, and a much different side, one that went out to prove a point. And prove indeed.

Full credit to this team, definitely on the up.

PS: Flanders to never go to half back again. Midfield is where he is destined.

I must have crossed the road at the same time you did.
Yeah it was culture building off field for the supporters tonight.
