It's hard to imagine, us being better next season losing our B&F winner

And... potentially losing Bolton & Baker.

look I wasn't thinking we'd make finals next year let's be real, but I was hoping we would have slight improvement.
This is going to get Yze quicker out the door sacked.
If he cares about his coaching career, he would be saying to Hartley to hold Rioli & Bolton to their contracts.
What did Yze say at his job interview? Live in the past, die in the future, or something like that.
He and Blair will know what’s required. We won’t be holding and trying again with the current list. This will be a full on assault on this years draft imo.
Trade out those who want to go, and absolutely load up on what’s a great strong draft. It’s going to be fun watching it all happen, can’t wait.

I doubt they give us pick 3 for Baker unless they ask for one of the first rounders we get for Bolton from Freo (let's say pick 9 for now).

So another way to frame this is whether pick 3 for Baker + pick 9 is something either club would consider (add in steak knives where appropriate).

Yes many ways they can acquire Baker for fair value without giving us pick 3 in a straight swap. Clubs have shown before they can get several clubs involved in order that everyone gets what they need from a trade at fair value.

Yeah but you can cut too deep, I admit we can't do anything about Baker & Graham. even Richo says we shouldn't give both Rioli & Bolton away only 1 of them.

I fully expect some tough times, but in 3 years time & we still struggling, Yze has got the sacked & we tumoil what would you say would you still stick by that? because that's what could very well happen.

Or we could trade in some mature players end of next year or year after and fly up. This will be different to Norf as we won't be using 1 pick per year and have the ability to attract players from other clubs.

Yeah. I've also heard stuff. Can't say what though.

Excited Season 4 GIF by The Office

So many oppo fans are melting that we're going to make out like bandits this trade period. It's actually laughable how much they all seem too care all of a sudden about GC being bent over.

I just think it's extra tough for WCE because of all the noise around the club being focused on the lack of young, high grade talent coming through.

Obviously, very possible that more than one club gets involved to get the deal done, but that leaves you endless possibilities and combinations of trades where it gets tiresome, which is why I look at what the current facts are: WCE don't have many high quality picks (and their priority will be to get in young, high quality talent first, or at least it should be their priority), we want overs for Baker (and rightfully so), and Baker reportedly wants us to be compensated (and I presume Baker knows what the club will demand as "fair compensation").

Or we could retain enough senior players and support the younger players we draft. I don’t think we are anywhere near as bad as our finishing ladder position, but if injuries continue as they have this past season, no doubt we could struggle.
Dan is a fantastic HBF, but it’s not a position we cannot fill. Shai is a freak, and will be hard to replace, on that I agree. But if he genuinely needs to go back to WA, and we get a strong return for him, I think we really should do it.
Can go either way, but if we pick well in this upcoming draft, and give them 12-24 months to find their feet, we will be heading back up the ladder. Given the quality in this draft, it is worth the risk imo.

Rioli + Pick 29 + Pick 39 + Pick 41
For
Pick 6 + Pick 13.

Chuck in 20 for a future 2nd while you’re at it Dimma.

EAD Gold Coast

My guess is that 39 and 41 will be sent to Brisbane for their first round pick.

I do think it would be worth asking the question for a second higher end pick from GC though, and maybe sending the pick for Graham their way (assuming Graham decides to leave).

That's exactly what I am saying, you can't be pushovers & be a soft club.
We need some talented senior players with the young draftees.
If we lose all of Baker, Rioli, Bolton & lesser extent Graham. we are losing a lot of balance to our list. you can afford 2 of them to probably go but not all 4.
We will be all young so when we are ready to go up the ladder, we have too many players in the same age bracket.

Need senior players for sure, but I think we will still have enough even if the 4 players you mention leave.

Yes, absolute gun and also a very good leader, The wheels must have fallen off at Dees for him to want out.

I know we aren’t in the zone at the moment for a Trac trade to be of interest ….but if we were, and his fitness stacks up…then the Ooze connection and being a big club might get the deal over the line

Don’t mind losing if the side are mainly kids, develop them and Yze would deserve to see it beyond that.

Rioli and pick 21 + 41 instead?

Yes to both of these if we add 47 and what’s left to satisfy the points system and leave us with 1,6,13,14,20

Maybe even try keep 21 and trade up for another top 10 pick if possible
