Thanks.

Despite all our frothing, what do they both offer outside of cool small forward kraftwerkz?

Can they play higher up the ground? Do the tackle? Can they tear up a wing? Do they create something out of nothing?
Yes to all. Except wing. I have no idea about that.

Do you watch AFL?

I’ll pause on that idea!

I think they just need heaps of youth, but yeah Erasmus for 6 spot downgrade is probably optimistic!
A 6 spot upgrade from 9 to 3 is simply enormous.

By contrast, a 6 spot upgrade from say, 42 to 36 is not that much.

Always surprises me how people value draft picks. The value of draft picks are exponential.

Some examples- in 2019, GWS paid a future 1st to move from 6 up to 4. Pick 6 + F1 = 4.
The same year Fremantle paid 28 to move from 10 to 8. Pick 10 + 28 = pick 8.

I’d suggest it costs around pick 10 to move from 9 to 3.
Pick 9 + pick 10 = pick 3

Let’s use your suggestion:
Pick 9 + Erasmus = pick 3.

You are valuing Erasmus at pick 10!!

Erasmus is worth around pick 40, optimistically.

But head over to the eagles board with it anyway for the laughs it will be funny to see their reaction 😂

****s sake Xav why have a guest on if you’re gonna interrupt them every two seconds.

Summary:
  • Bolton talks quite progressed
  • Freo think Bolton can get done for two firsts, Kozzy for one high one.
  • Kozzy a decent chance to go WC if Freo don’t work out
  • Baker still leaning towards WC
  • Jack Martin still live but probably a long shot now
  • Emmett no contract
From the chain of texts I’ve seen, Kozzie has no ambition to get to any other WA side but Freo. Very unlikely he settles on West Coast.

The debate about Kossie and Bolton and how good their pressure is or their overhead marking just misses the whole point in my view. They are both game breakers who can win a game off their own boot, which is what we totally lack. The last piece of the puzzle. Freo - good back line ️, good midfield ️, good tall forwards ️, game breaking small forwards

Every other VFL club especially Geelong seem to be able, with some fancy numbers balancing, seem to be able to do it.

Geelong have a lifestyle that appeals to a lot of players- particularly the country boys. They have also always over the last 20 years had the star players taking less money for the chance of a premiership. That star studded side they had 10-15 years ago was riddled with players taking a lot less than their value to win flags.

So we get kozzie and port get Emmett?

Daniels seemed to think Emmett would be at the club next year.

I feel like he’s played too many games for a second year player to get delisted tbh.

I’ve felt like the club was always going to have one or two players too many once you delist the obvious candidates so we might be offering a few out of contract players for trades and seeing what happens. If the decision needs to be made it’d be interesting to see who ends up cut.

I'm not sure that's the discussion. Assuming we keep everyone, who is your preferred 7 forwards
