We have a voice. We can march in our thousands to Alberton in protest. Members have the power to change this but we're all to reluctant to do it. It can't be half-arsed, it has to be thousands of members & that's why it hasn't happened to date. There are thousands of supporters who want change though but most of us aren't prepared to take responsibility for making it happen.
I wanted him in to tag Gulden
We have a reluctance to let go of senior players & replace them with developing young players. That's on Ken.
Would trade Wines if can get a reasonable pick. Would have traded him last year too.

I don't think he'll forget it for awhile either, 3 turnovers 3 goals. I felt sorry for him, a terrible way to go out. He's been pretty good all year, definitely not a star but he's been an asset to move around the ground but last night was awful.
You bring this up on BF? That has spent years and years bitching that we have to play multiple tall forwards for structure?

We had one guy in a port guernsey on our flight home, everyone else had changed.My Port gear wasn’t pleasant after flying over in the morning, a bit of day drinking, pre game beers and sorrow drowning. Can’t see anything wrong with them wearing casual clothes on a Saturday flight home.
Can't like this enuf. And listen to the language used. They talk like young children. Kenny told me this, blah, blah, blah. Can't these players think for themselves. It's like they've been drugged & reprogrammed. Doesn't happen at any other club, its so embarassing to listen to.
Some supporters think he was our best player. Absolutely delusional. He was the Swans best player.
When his job is not safe & we lose. It's always about him.

It has happened in the past. Back in 1987 there were rallies in favour of retaining Russell Ebert as coach. I didn't agree with the protesters at that time but the rallies did happen.
Any public rally should make Koch the focal point as he is the driving force behind our slide into mediocrity. It isn't just about replacing the Coach it is about booting out a regime that puts public image before the core business of the football club. As I posted previously I am prepared to participate but someone needs to organise the event.
Geez, after another, 'oh so predictable' failed finals campaign I am really fired up and the situation is not helped when I pick up this morning's paper and read Connor Rozee's comments about what a great guy Ken Hinkley is. Geez, sack Hinkley and any players who do not like it can go for the right price of course.

One of the worst aspects of Kenny Average's coaching is that he believes that the team wins and loses and that individiual performances and matchups are not worth looking into.
The main issue, other than poor coaching, is the midfield is being walloped, especially in the 2nd, and this usually means our defenders are under huge pressure and our forward only gets bombs into the forward line.
Here are Sydney's goals:
1. Lloyd - Boak turnover in F50
2. Amartey lead on Aliir - overlap McInerny - lost by Boak
3. McDonald snap - Bergman holding the ball - Burgoyne should've got holding the ball against McLean - even Brian Taylor thought that was a joke
4. Papley - Burton turnover and late advantage
5. McDonald one on one with Bergman - Cunningham overlap - lost by Ratugolea
6. Amartey lead - Bergman free kick - not a lot in it - Blakey overlap - lost by Ratugolea
7. Heeney one on one mark against Burgoyne - too good and strong
8. Papley playing for free kick - high on Wines - careless
9. McLean burns Zerk on the lead - great Gulden kick into F50.

The other aspect to goal was Sydney's leading which was excellent while our leading was non-existent. I pour one out for Mitch who was wasted the whole game.
The majority of Sydney's goals were waiting for turnovers, running hard and overlap hitting leads supplemented by a bit of one on one skill.
Our midfield and all of our running players were killed in the 2nd quarter.

Now I'm in my own ' morning after ' mode after being blindsided by the loss yesterday, I'm better placed to offer an opinion on this one. I'm not sure a public rally against your club administration is the way to go. Yes I agree that you guys have every right and reason to rail against Koch et al, but two things - a\ I don't think that's the bulk of the issue, and b\ this has been going on since well before Koch - Greg Boulton was piss weak and too scared to stand up to the powerbrokers at AFL house as well, and allowed the club to be effectively emasculated in his reign. The only official I can ever recall having any balls in your AFL sojourn so far is Brian Cunningham.
In my view, the AFL is the main culprit. It is a totally corrupt organisation with its pernicious agendas set in stone, and changing the guard down at Alberton will have little or no effect.
A better tactic is to boycott the AFL entirely. Don't buy memberships, AFL approved merchandise, pay TV subscriptions to AFL specific channels, etc and don't attend the games. Realise that's hard for diehard supporters and long time members to do, but it's the only way the message will get across.
The AFL has two main agendas that are obvious if you think about it. It has its mind hell bent on cracking the lucrative populous, cashed up NSW market and dominating Rugby League in that State. Why else would they have rescued a dead duck from the jaws of the creditors five times in the last 40 years and introduce a second into an area with a massive NESBy demographic with no interest in Australian football?
South Australia is just nuisance value. Guaranteed revenue stream due to the same level of football tribalism as Victoria but on a much smaller scale. Same goes for WA. Let them have a token flag every so often, and build up their supporters hopes just enough to keep them hanging in there.
On the other side of the ledger, the AFL has to balance this out by assuaging the Victorian ' heartland ' . In other words, they can't afford to shit in their own nest and cut off the huge revenue stream from the Victorian football public spread across 10 clubs. Example - the reluctance to get rid of North Melbourne. North have been a parasite club for decades. There has been perfect opportunities to shunt them off to Canberra, Gold Coast, Western Sydney and , now, Tasmania. But it won't happen.
Hence, the graded draw system, that seems to favour the big Vic clubs to a ridiculous extent, the criminal concessions given to the NSW clubs ( such as COLA, academy development etc ), ridiculously long suspensions handed out to players of the genuine interstate clubs and a gazillion other anomalies too many in number to list here and chew up bandwidth.
The reason for the rant? Well, we wake up this morning and have a Grand Final between two clubs transplanted in rugby cities. The AFL can trumpet loud and long about how its' national league concept has been a huge success because this years' Grand Final is contested between teams based in NSW & Queensland - rugby heartland states - and can claim a double win as this decider is actually contested by the remnants of two foundation VFL clubs - South Melbourne & Fitzroy - two clubs that were by and large bottom two for most of their time in the 1900s and who still have a solid foundation supporter base in Melbourne.
In summary - The AFL have got their all interstate final, while not actually having an all interstate final, it's an all Victorian final. Win win.
Stop and think about the Grand Finals since the birth of the national competition in 1987. How many genuine ' all non Victorian finals ' have we seen, despite all the hype and irrational fear coming out of Victoria in the early 90s about the Eagles and Crows being an omnipotent force within a handful of years and dominating the competition, and again in the early 2010s with the concessions and draft leg ups that were given to Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney?

I totally agree with what has been written in these threads about dead wood at Alberton and the need to clear it out, but in reality the problem goes much further than that. I've long held the view that the genuine interstate clubs should form a ' bloc ' or ' cartel ' to fight the AFL and its' agendas. After all they comprise one third of the member clubs and numbers are about to be increased.

Ken prefers to play his guys, old guys, injured guys, gold card guys, crap guys to the detriment of playing young players and at the end of the year when there are injuries, he plays them still.
The idea of playing Dixon in that final was just insane but he hadn't even tried to work anything else out. Ken limits his own options for his own choosing.
You've got duds and spuds like Fevans, McEntee and Narkle in the forward. Anasta or Sinn should've been given a taste.
Same with Lorenz on the wing instead of Boak.
And then the media guys say Ken doesn't have the cattle because he's playing the old fellas, Dixon and Boak.

From the outside looking in, this has been an ongoing issue with Port. It appeared as if the pattern had changed when Hinkley first took over, but it soon reverted to type. There's a hundred examples of spuds and duds over promising young players littering the AFL history of Port since the Cahill years - a few examples that come straight to mind:

Add to that the gold pass retention of players well past their use by date, good as these players were in their day:
