The Bolton trade is not an overpay. Two first round picks is the starting point for very good players. Bolton is a match winner and the Dockers got him for a pretty standard deal.

Houston is the "better" player but Bolton is ~1.5 years younger and potentially can have a bigger match winning impact. Though, I'm confident if we had pick 10 we'd have given up 10 and F1 for Houston, so not dramatically different (reported this is what Dees were prepared to pay). We were just lucky we didn’t have the picks and had players Port and the Suns wanted.

We got Houston for a below value deal, thanks to the perfect set of circumstances lining up at the right time.

Toby Greene being fined 20k for "not showing leadership" cannot be legal ?

Steve Smith lost his job for a year for turning a blind eye and not showing leadership. Totally different severity of offence (in terms of what was ignored) but still , was the result of lack of setting standards.

If he played for another country it would've been a 2-3 match ban and a slap on the wrist , but if you are employed by an organisation who has to be seen to set standards and not offend anyone , then you need to be aware of what you do in public...........and that includes a private function with staff present.

I don't necessarily agree with the punishment but am not surprised.
